Sending Phone and Face care products to China? Possible?

It's around Christmas time and I wanted to send a Samsung Galaxy S5 Phone to my father in law, along with 3-4 bottles of Loreal facial care products to China. Can I send these items? I searched around and it was stated that I could send a Phone with the battery installed as long as I state it. I wanted to know if these products are allowed to be sent? I get mixed answers so far on every google search I've found. Some say its okay, others say its not.

I want to avoid custom and duty fees if possible, but don't mind having to pay them if needed, its just these are gift items only and not for resell or commercial use.

Now I plan to ship it via USPS International priority express.

How should I package the items? I was hoping to tape off the contacts on the phone's battery and have it installed inside the phone, or leave it out. Bubble wrap the phone and the battery. Maybe use plastic baggies to place the facial care products inside of them, then bubble wrap them(Loreal products are sold in China too so these are not prohibited items). I want to ship it properly.

I'm not sure if I am prohibited to send any type of fluids, as facial care products may be consider a fluid?

What should I write on the package? GIFTS? do I have to write whats in it? Should I declare a customs value if its just gifts?

So with the phone and all, its probably around 900USD worth of value, I will insure the package. Any tips will help greatly as I want these items to arrive safely and to their destination.

Thank you all so much in advance for any input.

Good questions... only thing I mailed to China were documents through USPS. I've been fortunate to be able to make several trips to bring items to and from. But USPS were very helpful and took time to look info up. So they maybe able to answer your questions and concerns. Good luck to ya!

You have to be specific on the form. "Gifts" and "facial care products" will be deemed insufficient by the postal clerk.

How about just sending them the money and let them buy them from China

so that you don't have to worry about complications with shipping, customs, and cost.

SamSung Galaxy phone and Loreal cosmetics should be readily available products in China.

My wife has sent similar products. She stated what they were on the customs form and didn't have any problem. The recipient had to pay like $50 in customs fees, but other than that it was no problem.
