Traveling days after green card interview

Hi everyone,

We have our green card interview (based on adjustment of status procedure) on Dec. 17, but have tickets to leave for Belgium on Dec. 20 to spend the holidays with my parents. I already have my AP/EAD card. If I get approved during the interview, can I get a stamp in my passport at the end of the interview so I can travel on the 20th? I doubt the card would arrive two days after the interview.

Would much appreciate your advice!

Hi, I don't know how this will work for an AOS case which is why I moved your thread. This way you can get the help you need because how an IR1 would handle this is completely differently.

You can ask for a stamp (if you are approved at the spot. But it is up to the IO to give you one.) Otherwise you leave with AP.

Thank you! That's very helpful. Would it be a problem if the green card gets approved while I'm in Belgium (I'll be there for 2 weeks)?
