They cost $50 for 5 years. Cheaper than a passport. If you're filing a k1 you need established domicile in USA so no, not a good idea.

It seems my best course of action would be to begin my K-1 application, and return to the US to get a stable income... Which is pretty much where I imagined I'd wind up. that or I could continue to stay here until the child is born and wait for the K-1 visa to go through.

If he plans on living in Canada or living in the USA and going to Canada to visit his wife often Nexus card is good. If he wants together in USA,she will need a visa

If I was you. I will decide where I wanted to live get job and get settle down. Yes it will be hard being apart I am apart from my wife right now. The last thing you want in your relationship is money problems. Then you could apply for K-1 visa it should be approved in less then a year. If everything goes well maybe in 5 or 6 months

I know this is a silly question, but is there any way to expedite the process?

other questions:

If we submit the paperwork for the K-1 visa how often can I visit her if at all? Is she allowed to come visit me in the states?

Should I be worried about anything if I travel back and forth between the US and Canada?

I don't want to miss our childs birth so I want to be sure I'm there for it.

Also, I've glanced at the paperwork for the K-1 and it doesn't seem incredibly complex. However is there help available here that we can access?

I've only been here for about 2 months. so i havn't had to worry about too much. we originally hoped we'd be able to file everything and get approved without me having to return home. The hope was dwindling rather fast. I feel bad because I don't want to leave her alone while she is pregnant...

Unfortunately these things do happen. She'd be better off to have the baby in Canada. A k1 may or may not be approved in time. When is the baby due?

Time does go by quicker than you think. Plus things could be worse, you could be on the other side of the world

The baby is due in 4-5 months. We planned on having the baby born here because it would be cheaper. and we're not exactly rich. The pregnancy was unexpected, and a major wrench in our plans. But we love each other, and neither of us wanted to give our child up.

I'd sell my soul to Satan if it meant getting her legally into the states with our child today.
