making mini fruit tarts for xmas dessert, i'm making the pastry from scratch but i don't have an electric mixer or a rolling pin and i'm using a ziplock bag to pipe the cream cheese filling into the tart shells lol. wish me luck...

fork good. [mix yer pastry]

dowel good [roll out yer dough]

ziplock bag good. [pipe anything] but i prefer a piece of newspaper rolled into a cone instead.

today not a shopping day for gear - you've been home sick with a drive-able car recently, so how to blame yer shopping choices on a 'lack of free time' ? I can't see it :D

I'm not cooking kittens.

how to appease yer husband, then ? if'n he can't get what he wants, will you be distracting him whilst wearing the revealing costume?

[i be confused, apparently]

kittens are awesome! but...if he wants a kitten, then you guys gotta be clear who is the one who will be cleaning the litter box, spending time playing with it, who will remember to feed it on time, who will train it, discipline, etc. from what very little i know about your husband, it seems like if you don't make these roles clear from the get go, you might just get stuck with doing it all yourself.

fork good. [mix yer pastry]

dowel good [roll out yer dough]

ziplock bag good. [pipe anything] but i prefer a piece of newspaper rolled into a cone instead.

i can't drive without a licensed adult next to me ya sook. :P jonas has been working all week.

i used a fork to mix the pastry but it needed something more vigorous so i broke the golden no-hands rule for pie crust pastry (still turned out ok as far as i can see)

i used a pestle (as in mortar and...) to roll out the dough but it just became one big sticky mess. so then i gave up and just used my hands again.

they do not look as professional/neat as i would have liked. but they taste good. oh well...

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

omg - you've only got the learner's permit as a license? I'm so sorry, I not know of it until just now. That sucks ! OTOH, buying a car for your use was premature - you cannot legally drive solo.

If I don't do things, which I do automatically as a control freak, he will do it. He's very good with pets. I do not want to clean a litter box which is why I have yet to go get one. Then again, litter boxes are easier than outdoor poop!

I like my guinea pigs, but they are work, but I could sing the praises of the ways my life has improved since become cat and dog free (and I had a very cuddly and nice cat).

I love animals and am a total pet person, but I really have begun to realize why certain cultures do not keep dogs or cats in the house.

the point of buying the car was so i could practice driving on an automatic (not so i can drive solo, at least not for now). my husband drives a manual - that doesn't work for me. :P

kit the kat - pestle is ok - must coat it with flour first, so is no stickyness.

hard to do, really, so get it wet, then coat with flour until it's goo, then coat the goo with the flour again....

also - toss flour liberally when rolling.
