Well, one of the big reasons for the eventual split off of Christianity was brit milah and pagan converts who did not want to be cut. There were other reasons too, but it was a big contributing factor. Otherwise, it could have easily been another subset of Judaism.

On to non-historical topics - my anatomy ultrasound is this morning, maybe, hopefully, finding out the gender. I've told the Dane that I'm not going to tell him until Christmas. He got all pissy.

However often do you get ultrasounds in the US? In Japan they are monthly once the pregnancy is known, but in the UK if going NHS, the first one is not until 6months of pregnancy and only a couple later.

There is no policy, really. If we had stayed in CT, I would have had one at 6 weeks, 8, 10, 12, and then 18-20 weeks, and one later.

Here, I had one at 5 weeks, an in-depth one at a specialist's office at 12 weeks, then this one at 19-20 weeks and one later on. If you are not prone to miscarry and will not abort based on the outcome of the NT scan, they do one at 8 weeks and then the one at 19-20.

There are a couple of UK ladies in my due date group and they are having the anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks.
