especially this time of year.

There's legitimate reason too. I have a close relationship with 1 of the police unions here (There are many). They give me these "courtesy" cards. The bearer, if they know how to speak to a cop, and present this card in the right manner, will usually get a "Warn and Admonish" (a warning) instead of a summons. BTW, warning a driver in lieu of a summons is perfectly legal.

So these knuckleheads all swarm me for these cards. Yet they don't personally know any cops. So they ask me to sign the backs of them. Then if I give them one, now they want one for their wives, and kids, and their mother's friends sons.......

I end up not giving any out. Yet they still pester me for them, year round.

I'm thinking the flue is trying to catch me. Last night as I was going to bed I suddenly felt very cold. Normally I sleep above the covers but I crawled under to warm up. The wife feels me, says I feel hot. So I go and get the thermometer and sure enough I've got a fever of 101. This on top of my mouth having been worked over by the dentist right after work, and I'm feeling rather miserable. Most of the night it was chills to burning up, totally soaking my pillow. I wake up this morning feeling totally fine with no fever, but now I'm worried the next shoe will drop and the next phase will kick in.

do we? people make all sorts of claims for things, even when it has been shown the item survives the hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

pain occurs in the brain. If someone believes sticking a needle in them will make the pain go away it will. It has been also shown people can think away pain.
