A trust fund can be set up in a thousand ways Troph.

Look at how many times you've heard of a child star's parent used all the money.....

Yeah, I guess, I just remember reading an arrest report from the town we used to live in of a father who was arrested on multiple counts of larceny for taking unauthorized money from his kids' trust accounts.

Hello everyone ,

It has been a busy week. Got updates on work situation - broke down before christmas - could not take it anymore, waited till New Years - hoping things would get better but they got worse so I asked "my manager" for coffee to talk about it. I tried explaining to her how I felt and at some stage she just got up and left and would not speak to me about it - except for some things that did not help our conversation. After that I was asked by the Director out for coffee the next day (and so was she, separately).

During that conversation I was told she is not my Manager that she was only to teach me the ropes of the job (which she clearly did not) and that she only ever supervised students and so made mistakes in dealing with me. I admitted to not doing well being ordered around and being treated the way I was treated. So then I was given the go ahead to do my job with her being there as support should I need it but thats it. As for my working hours - that is to be determined (she changed it from 6:30 to 7:30 so not a big deal but with the drive, I prefer getting there early and usually I avoid traffic and snow issues...believe it or not lol) either way....all the Directors I am to support need to speak to one another and decide if me coming at 6:30AM is ok for them or not. And as for the conference she did not want to give up (I understand that - it is her baby) - well, she will need to since it is my responsibility now. She did buy me flowers and sent me a letter, which I think was very nice of her.

Conclusion: I can now think for myself - do my job and screw up if i screw up and take responsibility for it. I no longer feel imprisoned and bullied. YAY !

you talked, with humans? naaaaaaaaaaaaw.. really?

no Brownelle's to be given over, either? man, that just blows, and not in a good way !

Well, at least you not need to resort to dirty tricks to get stuff stuff done.

What is shocking me, is that you not live within a 10 minute bike ride from the office, living in cheap student focused run-down quad house.

Ok, so he gets arrested for grand larceny. That's not going to help recover anything. If the money is gone, it's gone.

He can take out the older 3's and soon the 4ths money without getting into trouble. Other then it would be counted as income and then they would go after him for child support. Something he has never paid.

It's normal to be attracted to tough broads :)

Jacque is indubitiably (sp) seemingly a tough broad, she's quick to cut you instead of trying to take a socratic approach to yer sarcasm. I admire her for that, really !

I'd want her at my left hip in any knife duel, knowing she'd cover my weak side, and easily !

I smell a lawsuit, end result being release of and control of funds to the parent that has physical possession of the kids.

What say you, O Steve ?

1- I'd want a gun for a knife fight.

2- depends on how much Canadian pesos are involved, it may be difficult to find an attorney. A trust fund is very very very difficult to argue. Likewise, during litigation, the money can be moved, spent. No one gets paid. So unless the reward is high, attorneys will steer clear. It's like suing a bum that broke your car window....

It's really not worth the fight. The kids don't want him in their lives. If somehow he gave them the money he would be a headache they don't want. The oldest would of had about 70k then the it went down a bit for each one after that as I stopped paying into it. The oldest has dealt with anxiety and depression due to his father he wants nothing to do with him. It's a small price to pay for your well being.

As far as taking him to court after what happened with my cousins money their Aunt stole 400k from theirs and their was nothing they could do. Very long story but in the end she never had to pay it back

you see? trust funds are tough.

Basically, it simply means you (a beneficiary) is trusting someone with your money.

A lot of times, a trustee is the person who put the money in the fund to begin with.....

It's difficult even for the IRS to touch these funds.

and this is why, if you ever hit a lotto jackpot......

1- Get an "Asset protection" attorney

2- set up trusts, and offshore trusts (Cayman Islands is now the new Swiss bank)

3- Go get your $$ and disappear. Change your phone number, move to....um....somewhere far lol

It sure sounds like the Hillbilly is a pretty good guy. Welcomed 4 kids into his life and took care of them?

He sure is, not something easy to take on either.

I told you he was nuts, he even wanted more kids :D

One of my best friend's has a trust fund of sorts. She has to apply to use the money and show why she needs XX amount. Her family would sooner go broke on lawyers than give that money to anyone else either so no spouses can ever get any in the event of a divorce.
