oh yeah.....

My buddy texts me like 10 times, on and on about the police dept.

He tells me how the Police Commissioner called all the CO's of Manhattan North precincts into his office and told them the slow down must stop. Then he asks me if I heard anything about the other Boros. I'm like dude.....no, and why would I, and I dun give a sheet! It's got nuttin to do with me.

Then he goes on and on, and I'm like "Dude, stop bothering me with this nonsense"

Now he seem to have stopped.

Why TF is he so suddenly so interested in Police work? What TF man........

Hubs likes cabbage rolls but not the tomato sauce part. I wonder if he'd like a red wine reduction sauce better?

I'm not merely talking in the sense of ethnicity and origins. Or even age and gender.

(The nanny is very loud and making a racket, causing the baby to make a racket)

The universities here can much better relate to say, a corporate board here. Which is in itself, much more diverse than a corporate board in Singapore.

The students here, comes from tremendous reaches of other universities, America, as well as the planet. The sheer size the the university system in the U.S. and Canada mixes the smorgasbord of cultures and experiences unsurpassed by any other system in the world.

you make a good point that we should seek an education, particularly higher education degrees, that relate closely to and will bring value to our professional development. and that is exactly why doing masters in public policy in singapore would be much more useful to me than learning about public policy in the US. it's an entirely different system of government and policy-making, and that just isn't useful to my job (the job i am on no pay leave from and consider my career).

i think you are wrong though in saying that america has a more diverse student population than singapore. singapore is a melting pot of many different backgrounds, cultures, experiences, etc and people tend to like to use it as a vaulting point. the end result? diversity - sometimes more than we ask for...

what, may I ask, is a reduction sauce?

And is there an addition sauce?

lol!! no it's when you "reduce" the red wine to make the sauce. You can add stuff afterwards but often people don't. Apparently it's better than a normal marinara or tomato sauce.

In other food news - I got the little one to eat spinach last night and actually like it!

She really has a very limited range of fruits and vegetables, so this is exciting.

spinach = one of the only veggies i will eat

Brat I'll tell you right now, no way in heel is Singapore more diversified than even NYC, let alone the entire USA. You've only seen a very tiny part of a very large picture.

But I didn't say that they're not ethnically diverse.

Singapore, I don't care how great it is. It's tiny. The entire GDP of Singapore does not equate close to what our top universities spend on research alone in a year. No way can anyone learn as much over there as here.

Let me ask you this, what is Singapore's equivalent of say....MIT? Or, the U.S. naval academy? Any ivy league university? The mayo clinic? Texas A&M? cal-Tech? The USMMA?

But you're right, it may be better suited for what you're doing.

I'm not trying to say you should go to school here. But in the real world. I'm sorry to inform you that Singapore doesn't hold a candle to the U.S. in real stuff universities of substance.

And I really don't mean to insult Singapore.

But you're grossly underestimating the diversity here vs Singapore in regards to every aspect possible, and the education available here.
