I used to think Vermont was pretty fast in approving petition. Don`t understand why it`s taking soooooooo long. I need my NOA2 already.

They were fast once, in early 2006 when it comes to I-130s for CR-1/IR-1 visas, but I heard the reason why they slowed down is because they lost a lot of their more experienced workers and have to train new ones. It's understandable; I see all the time in my field the effects of high turnover. I just hope they get it together! But hey, look on the bright side: we're at California now. It shouldn't be too long before we get approved. My timeline says June 17 now which is a vast improvement over the September ___ it was promising earlier at VSC!

Yea, that's why I'm feeling somewhat optimistic that we'll get our approval before my husband comes to visit :) But it hasn't been long enough for me to go to Senators regardless and won't be until late August...I can be patient! I just don't want to be :( Weekends are the worst, though, because you can't really expect an approval.

On May 6, 2007, we transferred this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer.

This is odd. HOw do they now have jurisdiction over your case? It seems rather random.

I sent an I130 petition to VT for filing in late March. No checks cashed, no receipt notice, nothing. Then last week the checks clear and I get the receipt notice directly from CSC! They didn't even bother inputting the petition, they just shipped it to CSC with the transfers and let CSC generate the case number and send the original filing receipt! Received date is still the date that it was received in VT, however.

I think the system message about the reason for transfer is misleading because it is a fixed message. USCIS chose to give CSC jurisdiction over these family-based cases for the time being (and I think all the employment-based cases and H1Bs got shipped to VT in exchange).
