Hi Tom,

I hope you get your petition to NOA2 once and for all. Thats ridiculous to be waiting from mid last year. Where can you get the form to apply for help from a senator? Goodluck with that! I just read a post where someone was approved like a month later - and thats really great news but for people like yourself and the rest who have been waiting a unusually long time in comparison to the recent approval times - I wish they would "get to it" already.

Knowledge is right -- we are a moody bunch lol. But definitely supportive!

Hi Elle,

We got our form from the Senators personal website. He had a link for asking him for help which included the form with the pertinent details of the USC, and then we included a letter briefly explaining the circumstances and what we wanted.

When I filed at VSC it took almost 6 months for the 2nd NOA and then after that another 6 months to complete the medical and visa interview. The whole process took a year. VSC can be slow. I wrote the congresswoman Thelma Blaire. They contacted the VSC for me and updated me with in depth information about what was happening. I also was in contact with someone who formerly worked there who said it takes lots of times to document all the information on paper into the computers. They kinda sit there for awhile, in boxes until they can be entered into the computer. But overall, itll happen.

Rete, who moderates Britishexpats also suggested using the House Representative first when looking for information. Perhaps I should go that route instead of John Warner, although as long as I get an answer...:-)

I applied on September of last year and I got the K-3 interview set for March 22 for my spouse and the CR1 is completed. If it takes them a long time to complete your paper, it is simply because the papers weren't filled out correctly, or papers are missing or not enough information given.

If you were married outside the US, I would recommend in case you didn't do so, to make sure your marriage certificate and birth certificate of your wife is taken to the "Minister of External Relations" of her/his country to get an an stamp that authenticates all the signatures in your certificates. And then once that's done get a translator. I have a scanner and I sent the translator a PDF of my flies to get translated, it took them 1 week to get them from them. There are agencies that will translate and notarize the papers for you.

And this is extremely important, ALWAYS SAY THE TRUTH in your forms. Regardless of your situation.

How do you know that for sure?? Personally I think thats rubbish. Possibly in SOME CASES, but not EVERYONES - applicants have sent perfectly filled in forms, and more than enough info......and can still wait a long time.

Please don't open your mouth when you have NO CLUE about our individual cases. You were fortunate enough to go through the process without any hiccups - good for you. BUT for you to smugly say that it's because "simply papers werent filled out incorrectly etc" -- what a load of CR@P. In the few cases - perhaps - but for all of us? It's not as simple as that. If there were missing info - a RFE would/should have been sent out.

And for you to imply that we did not state the truth in the forms? I can't speak for everyone but we have nothing to hide. We got unlucky and got caught in the pile. You have no idea how long it took my husband and I to compile and research for the I-130 petition. How many times it was checked etc.

So please take your ill advised narrow minded statements elsewhere. Like people here havent been through enough with the wait and they have to read some ignorant "advice" like that.

i've been always reading this section everyday... just waiting if someones got NOA2

co'z i feel sad for u guys that u have to wait that long for a NOA2

when my husband told me that our papers are at CSC, i thought that we have to wait that long...

because for the past years VSC is the fastest to forward petition to NVC...

and i agree that no one has a right to say that u did a mistake just because u waited long enough for a NOA

they just have to be thankful enough not experiencing the long wait ur in

and just support and pray for a speedy process at VSC...

hope i can read approvals on the coming days....

Hi niagara_falls,

If it makes you feel better, VSC was closed yesterday due to a holiday - so no touching for anyone. When is your anniversary? Dont worry I'm sure after this first one - you will be sharing 2nd and --->

It really does seem that some of those with NOA1 of between the last two weeks of Aug and first 2 weeks of Sept has been caught in Vermonts black hole. At least one of us did manage to get NOA2 about a week ago so that's encouraging!

I hope we all get some kind of update soon.

Hi Everybody,

I definitely think that we were all caught in an end of august filing VSC blackhole. As I stated earlier, it took me 5.5 months to get the NOA2. There were no RFE's or anything. One thing that I thought might've helped me is my filing for 129f because I think they might've relooked at my 130 once they received that and it speeded up a bit after that.

Hang in there everyone, and don't be like me and try to check your status online every 5 minutes. It can really lower your morale. I hope all of you get approved very soon and be with your loved ones ASAP.

I've just been looking through this thread and I can't believe what I'm seeing. My 130 has sat at VSC since July 12, 2006 with no movement at all and people with dates in August, September and October have approvals?? I'm glad for them but this is getting a bit ridiculous. And what's this about calling USCIS after 6 months have passed? I reread my paperwork and it only refers to them having to complete it in the processing time posted on the web which still sits in March 2006. My wife called the info line and they said the same thing. Am I missing something?

Tom

Hi Tom, welcome to the support group lol...or agonizing group, depending of the mood we are into...I try to be objective...each case is different...If i go to the sources of the infos they give in instructions or general (info)...if the background of the person is bigger than others, i.e., divorce-s, etc, origins, well, we can expect to be longer...

Reading you, i have a question: did you get touched? and how many times...usually after 2 touches approx, people get approved...I'm sorry you waited longer than us on here....so, therefore i believe you might get approved soon!...and good luck to all of us!!!

Hi Knowledge. Our 130 was received on July 7th and touched on July 12th, but nothing since then. When my wife called the info line they said there was no flag on the file, they simply hadn't gotten to it yet. When she told the operator that other people were getting approved who had filed months after us, they said there was nothing they could do until the processing dates have passed. My wife downloaded the form to apply for help from our senator and we plan to draft a letter this weekend to see if he can help.

Tom

Ah, very interesting they "omitted" to answer your spouse's question: "other...were getting approved"....while they just have the standard answers for everybody...Thanks for posting it because it's exactly the question we wanted to ask them...This "omission"...is significant to me...and obviously, many's question...for now i only can conclude they can not/ have specific internal rules not to tell us more about it....Looking forward you be approved before all us on here...

Sergioh: your post caught my attention, we have forgottent stuff on our G-325A, and were worried all those long months, if we have to send them the forgotten stuff or not....and have been many times adviced, not to send them anything till they send us an rfe....simply because as they are burried in tons of papers, the info send might not reach our file...

Also, some have received rfe's, others not and been approved without it...But for now, what is "real" to me, is that we are in the same basket of waiting as my same time frames collegues on here...who have been not so stupid like us lol to file the forms correctly...So your theory can be easily discussed...and it's so easy to imagine that "others" are not so good as you...so pls do not through more salt on our open wounds than necessary....Personnaly, i think i have reached for now my masochistic limits in this process....thus, I try to spend highly constructively my waiting time...I'm sure you didn't do it on purpose...but, of what i have read on here related to the psychological agony of the process, careful with the omnipotent syndrom of some who have been approved and have the need to sadize  a little bit those who are still in the process...

And huge waves to all...who are and are not in our waiting frame, your words are much appreciated...!!!... (F)

Thanks! I looked into one of MD's senators website too -- she has two privacy release both so I asked Mel (Henia) and she reckons just fill out both and I agree. Well VSC postd their processing times...*drumrolls* they are processng cases from March. Surprise surprise. Cali is processing files from Aug 21. My how times have changed. Wasn't Vermont the fast one not too long ago?

About the RFEs - I called that hotline and asked if they can even check that for me, in the chance that we might have been sent one - but nope cant even do that.

Tom - But yeah let us know how it goes. I hope you hear something. Hope it goes well.

We sent a letter to our Senator so when we hear back I'll be sure to post the reponse.
