Just curious...I know why they ask if you've ever been convicted of a crime, but why would they ask if you've ever been charged or arrested? Aren't we supposed to believe that all people are innocent until proven guilty?

Just wondered everyone's take on this and if one had been charged but NOT convicted if it goes against you.

02/05/07 - I-130 NOA1

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.

People are immigrating from another country, with different laws and different rules on how and which charges may be dropped (whether guilty or not).

05/22/2007 GREEN CARD arrives!!!

02/2009 - File to lift conditions

I-765

12/14/2006--- Mailed EAD App.

01/20/2007--- Biometrics

02/09/2005-------Sent in request to Congressional office for assistance with expediting EAD.

02/13/2007 -------- EAD Approved!

02/26/2007 - ------EAD received

Removal of Conditions:

05/12/2009 -- Overnighted application by USPS express mail (VSC).

05/14/2009 -- Green Card expired.

05/23/2009 --- Check cleared bank.

05/26/2009 -- Received NOA (NOA date May 15, 2009, guess they aren't deporting me).

05/29/2009- Biometrics Notice date

06/01/2009- Received Biometrics Letter

06/18/2009 - Biometrics

09/23/2009 - date of decision to approve (letter received), just waiting for card. No online updates whatsoever.

ok but does that mean they kind of reopen the case in a sense and try to determine how one would be judged over here in the US? I still don't get it I guess.

The laws in America are different, I once heard a case where a man owed for a car loan in Hong Kong, went for a vacation to America and POE refused him entry because he owed on a car debt, this was on BBC radio 2 a little while ago. So you see the law is an ### when it suits lol.
