Update I was one of the long waiting people waiting almost 90 days for CSC to send the papers to NVC through the long and grueling process I am happy to say that my fiancé had her interview in manila philippines on the 23rd and was told she passed hopefully it doesn't take long for the visa passport to be sent then she has to go for her pre departure seminar in Cebu then she can come to the US.. thank you to angela and usmbow for questions that I had and that helped through this grueling process. For all those that are waiting be patient your time will come. As for the interview she had a nice lady who was easygoing and didn't grill her. They didn't even ask her for my affidavit of support or pay stubs or job verification letter I was like wow, good luck to all and there journeys.

Congrats, happy to hear that.

Glad they finally admitted their error. It is amazing how long it takes them to do that!

Arrived at embassy this morning. I think we are finally out of the black hole!

I want to wish the best of luck to those still waiting on USCIS. Be persistent and you will get through this.

Also, thank you to ThatAngela for starting this thread and to all the contributors. And to usmsbow for your contributions to this thread and your infallible patience! :-)

usmsbow, so, when the embassy sent your fiancé your packet 3, what was required of them to do, so, did they receive a checklist of what documents they need to gather for their interview. I see on your timeline, that it says packet 3 received, packet 3 sent, packet 4 received. So, did they have to send back the packet 3, and if so, what did your fiance have to send back to the embassy in the packet 3 ? Also, how long did it take for the embassy to send packet 3 ?

Packet 3 should be just a checklist you sign and send back. The embassy wants to know your fiancee is prepared for the interview with her documents, including long-form birth certificate, vaccinations, divorce certificates (for both of you if necessary), the affidavit of support, etc.

I had Packet 3 before I made contact with the Vancouver consulate. So, when I contacted them for Packet 3 and they sent it back, I already had the form signed, PDFed and ready to go. I got Packet 4 the next day.

Packet 4 includes instructions on how to proceed with your interview and medical.

as part of the I-134 affidavit of support form, did any of you include any additional documents along with it, for example tax forms, written statements, bank account information.....etc

Also, was it necessary to get the I-134 form notarized, or have the original documents required for my fiance to bring translated to English ?

thatAngela, the packet 3 form you speak of, where did you get this form from, was it sent to you by the embassy ?

Yes. Read my previous reply to your post on the previous page.

Try going to your fiancees US embassy website. You may be able to download the packets from there.

As previously stated. All embassies have slightly different procedures.

They need the original I 134. Not notarized but with supporting evidence.

My fiance gave me the I-134, along with a letter from his employer and two pay stubs. That's really all you need if you make more than the minimum amount. Some people send as much supporting info as they can, though.

What you provide as supporting evidence for your I 134 is VERY specific to the embassy, your work situation and the specific CO handling your case.

At a minimum, I would provide the sponsors most recent tax return and W2s, or a tax transcript, and a letter from current employer. Paystubs aren't a bad idea either.

If salary alone doesn't meet the poverty level requirements, you will need more evidence that the applicant won't become a public charge.

Just a question about the packet 3. So, our petition arrived or was deemed "READY" on February 23, 2015. So, this means that it had arrived at the embassy. Just to get a clear understanding of what happens next. Does our respective embassy send my fiance the actual packet 3 in the mail ?

Also, about how long does it usually take to get mailed out ?

Just want to know, once the NVC sent our petition to the embassy, there is nothing for us to do except gather all the required documents necessary prior to her interview, am I correct on this ?

I just want to know if we have to do anything, notify the embassy in order to receive our packet 3?

Thank you all for your assistance and answers, truly appreciate everything!!!
