usmsbow, do you know when the USCIS sent out your petition to the NVC, and approximately how long did it take to get to the NVC ? Thanks for all of your info, it is much appreciated!!!

USCIS sent my petition on January 5th, and NVC received it on January 13th.

Nice, thank you for the info, it really is encouraging to read this

Another thing, was there any documents that needed to be filled out once it reaches the NVC, or is that once that packet reaches the embassy ?

Once it reaches the embassy. That's when you'll have to do the ds-160 (online) and the benificiary will have to bring the I-134 and supporting documentation to the interview.

Update: Once again, another positive & forward motion in our petition. Just got off the phone with the NVC, and finally, our petition has arrived at the NVC on February 12, 2015!!!! Don't have a case number assigned yet, and she told me it would take up to 42 days for NVC processing. I am sure that is a standard timeline they tell everyone, just like Monday when the lady said 35 days for the petition to get from the USCIS to NVC. Only took 8 days!!!!

usmsbow, I see on your timeline that it only took one day to receive your case number after NVC received your petition. Did you call them the very next day and received your case number ?

Congrats! Glad it finally worked out for you. And yes, I called the following day and got my case #. I'm sure if you call this afternoon or evening, they'll be able to give you your number.

Just talked to a rep. at NVC after being on hold for nearly an hour yesterday, Feb. 12, and today for about 20 minutes.

The call yesterday was to the wrong number according to the rep. I talked to yesterday... Listed on the NVC website as a number added because of the high volume of calls for non-immigrant visas, 202-485-7600. This number is only for visitor visas, etc.

The rep I talked to today on the 603-334-0700, had good news! They received the visa from USCIS and sent it to Manila on Feb. 3. She said they mailed me a notice--which I told her I have not received yet but am looking forward to receiving it! She also gave me the case number!

Excited that things are finally moving!

Alright, congratulations Jim on the great news!!!! What a relief, I can't wait to get that news, that our petition has been sent to our embassy, then I will surely know we are past the halfway mark

Thanks very much! Now the hard part begins with all the documentation and fees to be paid. I don't mind the fees, it's getting the documents right and sent to her for the embassy interview--which can't come soon enough because our initial approval was way back on October 16 from the California Service Center which never got beyond mailing the approval which said the application had been sent to NVC--the California Service Center glitch many have referred to.

Update: Well, it seems like snowball, once the great news starts, its just keeps rolling in!!!! Last night, I decided to give the NVC a call at around 8:00 pm EST. I was just curious to see if we were assigned our NVC case #, so why not, what could it hurt. So, after being on hold for almost one hour, I finally got to speak with Gus. Gus was very, very helpful, took all my info, and then asked me what was my question, I asked him about a case #, and he said, yes, do you have a pencil ready!!!! I was like ALRIGHT!!!! So, we were assigned our NVC case #, he gave me our IIN #, and our BIN #. I also asked, how long of a wait should we expect before our documents are sent to the embassy, he told me that judging by his experience with other visas like ours, it should be sent out with "lightning quick speed", his exact words. He should it shouldn't be long before they send it and the embassy receives it. Finally!!!! What should've been done a couple months ago is finally happening now. Thank you God, and thank you to all my fellow VJer's and all the very helpful info & insight I gathered from everyone on here. If it wasn't for this specific messageboard, I would not have known what to do in order to get things moving again. Thank you to all, and God bless everyone in their journey towards the visa & a lifetime of happiness.

Anyone know how long the congressman/senator will response you approximately?

Our NOA 2 is middle Dec(2014). USCIS website said the case was sent to NVC on Jan 7. We called NVC in early Feb, 2 agents of NVC said they received on 1/14/2015. However, we called again this week, now 2 ladies of NVC said our case is not in the system without case number.

(One lady of NVC just said, sometimes USCIS said they sent, but actually not.....asked us to wait. Two months after NOA 2.... All We could do is just wait!!? )

Now we are doing everything as this thread suggested to locate our case.

I couldn't sleep well since the terrible news from NVC.
