NOA2 to NVC: Have you been waiting more than a month?

Can anyone list their experience with current wait times for NVC receipt to NVC case number receipt and then to embassy receipt?

Obviously it is not the 42 day auto re "lie" NVC states. Sounds more like 1-2 days for case number and about another week to the embassy. Correct?

Correct. It seems case numbers get assigned in 1-2 days.

Get this.

One more thing to fuel my utter contempt for CSC.

An acquaintance, who isn't even a US citizen by birth like me has this timeline through CSC.

9/8 NOA1

10/6 NOA2

10/23 recd NVC case number.

Now married!

The only difference i can see is that he used a lawyer for the whole thing. I doubt that sped it up but it's possible i suppose.

I am beyond angry with the cis at this point.

I can't see how they can be this effed up, whether it's intentional or "accident".

Can you not do that? That messes up the statistics for all of us stuck in Texas Service Center hell!

Not really... as I remember I had to adjust the day by one day. I don't think it will have a significant affect on the stats. It was just somethimg odd I noticed when trying to fill out my timeline.

The one date we cannot enter correctly is the NVC arrival date. Everything else we can enter correctly. I just left that one date blank. I don't think it will mess things up for you all, especially since you're most interested in NOA2 estimations.

that being said, for those of you getting a NEW NOA2, are you putting in the new NOA2 date or sticking with the original?

We all just had bad luck. The lawyer did not help his case. There are tons of cases that were approved after ours that didn't have this problem. That's what makes this so maddening.

That happened to most people here. Sorry, but it will probably take a month or so until your file reaches the NVC. At least they finally told you where it is!

Are they still using that same old story? I maintain that it is a lie. They are trying to twist the stats in their favor over TSC or have some other reason to delay. They're only using NRC because it's sounds almost like NVC and so a more believable scam. I will never believe that is what is really happening. Need a class action suit, media attention and foia in 10 years. Then I might believe. Everyone should know by now how much they lie. Don't believe anything they say unless it's in writing and signed. Worst experience with liars I've had since military recruiters!

Expect a month + added and don't believe any bs they say about expediting your case.

It'll get there eventually but don't hold your breath.

My mistake was listening to the lies and hoping for too much. In retrospect, I would have prevented a lot of stress by forgetting about it and changing my plans at the beginning. Hounding them doesn't work. But be sure to check in weekly or so to make sure they haven't effed something else up. I'd say good luck but that's not really what you need. EXTREME patience is all that's really required.

Yeah. I'm not encouraging use of a lawyer. I don't believe in using them. But I don't believe in "luck" either. And I do know that these guys might fear some prestigious (and expensive) legal firms. That may have given some leverage. His case went unbelievably fast. I feel that if I had gobs of money to waste, I could have pushed them to get it through. I'm pissed about the way this is dragging on but very happy I didn't sell out to a corrupt system. Also, unless you hire a very prestigious legal firm, you're just wasting your money. Most of them have no more leverage than the average petitioner.

The only thing that's going to get the CSC off their fat asses is fear of a major legal action, legislative changes or bad media stories.

Hello All,

I am glad I found this post. I am sitting here on day 36 after my NOA2 approval, CSC, on December 19th, 2014 not quite understanding the next step, thinking I would hear something within the stated 2-4 weeks hoping as all do for the quickest time, hoping for just one good break that will take some time off of the sentance .... I know a lot of you here have been waiting much longer hoping and praying for an end in sight.... Or even a quick informational update. I would not be so concerned, even if some guy called me up on the phone and said " Hey dude, we just screwed the pooch on this one. Yeah, that's going to add another 53 days to your time here". Although this would be disheartening, having to tell my loved one that we will have to wait just a "little longer" to begin our lives together, at least I would know.

Thanks for letting me rant - anticipating, potentially a much longer road ahead......

Oh! Just emailed the NVC today, I'll see if we get a response. If so, I'll post an update.
