That's their standard answer. You should have a case number tomorrow or Friday.

Edit: and of course- congrats!!

Yes, this. I waited a day and a half before calling back. It definitely won't take 42 days.

First of all, congratulations to all who have received the awesome news recently, I am so happy that things are starting to move in a forward direction with your cases. Just a quick update on our case, still waiting on response from our USCIS service request, probably some time next week, they said 15 days. Called USCIS earlier in the week, same response, petition has been approved and most likely has been sent to NVC. Called NVC today, the lady was so very helpful and empathized with my situation, she told me that they haven't received our petition yet, and she says it only should take about 35 days to receive it from USCIS, and she doesn't understand why the K1 fiancé visa petitions are running into this delay problem, since they are time sensitive were the words she used. She advised me to call the USCIS and demand to know why my petition hasn't been sent yet. Also, the most promising news of the day, I received a response from my U.S. State Senator, stating that they will be looking into my problem, and on the form they sent me to fill out authorizing them permission to look into my case, on the top it says it is a USCIS Authorization From, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow underneath that, so hopefully this gives us something to look forward to, that we finally have someone on our side, willing to help us figure out what the heck is going on here. Once again, congratulations to everyone who received great news this week, hope to be joining everyone soon in sharing my great news!!!!

Never give up, guys. Keep demanding answers and it will come through.

for us we got our NOA2 on December 2nd after 175 days of waiting

unfortunately we were so impatient so on December 1st my fiancee asked for expedition but we got approved the next day and we were so relaxed after all that waiting

we kept calling NVC and till now we've had nothing.

last week my fiancee was able to talk to one of the supervisors of USCIS and we got a huge surprise that the didn't our file to NVC because we asked for expedition and the officer had to keep our file for another month (as she said for the routine check up).

so asking for the expedition came in reverse action.

however the lady of USCIS told my fiancee that USCIS sent the file 2 weeks ago to NVC and we've called them today and they have nothing.

it's frustration to wait and wait.

wow that was fast called NVC this morning they received it, then I called back this evening already got my case number less than a day. How long does it usually take for them to send it to the embassy and can I start setting up medical and interview date for my fiancee or do I have to wait until it's received by the embassy?

93 Days. It has been 93 days since our NOA2 Date. We actually hired a lawyer to assist with the entire process and it has still been 93 days. Set to expire in less than a month, our lawyer was able to inquire with the USCIS Officer and negotiated being sent a new NOA2 date while will expire on 5/8/15. It's difficult to spend increasingly longer times without each other.

In order to prepare for our future life together, I found a new job and moved to Portland, got an apartment for the both of us, and it feels pretty empty. The job has very good benefits and I am happy to know that when we're able to get married, the big question of health insurance premiums won't be an issue, but I can't take a single hour of vacation time for 6 months and I'm an 8-5, M-F kind of worker. It beaks my heart to know that for no functional purpose, we're spending our time apart and it's costing us a lot of sanity, money, time, and stability.

Did it help anyone to contact their congressperson in their state? Was there ever a circumstance which allowed the USCIS to expedite the case? I've never been much of a drinker, etc. So, uncorking a bottle of wine doesn't appeal to me. Anyone else find ways of either making the time shorter or seem shorter? Once the California Processing Center sends the NVC our case, how long till we get an interview?

It's sad to think that because of all this uncertainty, we couldn't even plan an actual wedding and because it's so expensive to live separately, it's hard to save up for one, too. We can't even effectively put together a guest list. :-(

So many feels (feelings).

Sorry this is happening, Chlois. My time has been spent training our puppy, long distance runs and reading. It has been maddening at times because I left my job last summer to prepare for the move. I might have been better off, frustration wise, if I had kept working.

I'm not sure went you hired a lawyer but that's not the issue. My suggestion is to stay malic the calls to CIS yourself and demand some accountability on your file. Politely, of course.
