Which petitioner documents needed at interview?

My wife's interview is coming up this month and we're assembling everything she will need for it and hoping we don't leave anything out.

On the latter note, how much of what I personally submitted will she need (ie: my birth certificate, citizenship certificate (I am a naturalized US citizen), tax documents (for which year(s)?), etc.)? If any, which can be copies and which must be originals?

I'm most concerned about the tax documents that I submitted electronically to the NVC with my Affidavit of Support. Will it suffice for me to send her the scanned copies that I sent to the NVC so she can print them out and bring them, or do they have to be the original tax documents? Need to know this especially as her interview is in a couple weeks and I will need to expedite these out to her if needed.

Thanks

the nvc will send everything to the embassy, expect the once you never submitted.

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,

I electronically submitted copies of original documents to the NVC. Will they print and send the copies to the consulate and that will suffice for the consulate? Or do I need to send the original documents that the copies were made from to my wife for her to bring to the interview (primarily concerning tax documents and documents related to the Affidavit of Support)?

you will need to send the originals to wifee, because they will need those once. dont forget anything when you are sending it to her, you dont want to wait again after that long journey.

in the interview letter, there should be instructions about what to bring on an EP case.

In essence, it's everything submitted in to NVC via EP.

Have you reviewed the interview letter?

which consulate is this, btw?

Could you, would you, make yer official VJ timeline this week, over at

No problem on the timeline. I'll hunt the dates down and input them, thanks.

Regarding the interview letter, the closest I can find that mentions tax documents is on page 2, under "*** IMPORTANT *** Interview Reminders", in point #3 it mentions...

Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview.

I did not provide an extension in lieu of a return. Rather, I provided the return.

Am I missing something in the interview letters (or elsewhere) that mentions that all (or tax-related) original documents that the petitioner submitted electronically are required to be presented at the interview by the applicant/beneficiary? If so, can you please point me to it?

I would like to be as certain as possible that my wife will need these tax documents so I do not unnecessarily spend a significant amount of money expediting them to her. :)

Also, we will be at the Montreal, QC (Canada) consulate.
