I know a few people have had these and expressed concern regarding their authenticity.

As such, I would like to share the following correspondence with my fellow VJers (my input in red) in the hope that it puts minds at rest:

From: #####@uscis.dhs.gov
To: #####@hotmail.com
Subject: New Naturalization Date
Date: Tue, 9 Dec 2014 16:52:24 +0000

Your ceremony that was scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2014 has been changed to Friday, December 19, 2014. Please bring your letter and report to the same location, Rend Lake College at 8:00 a.m.

Thank you.

Dear Ms H########

Thank you for your communication re my Naturalization ceremony.

Please don't take offence, but is there any way I can confirm the authenticity of this email? With all the spam/hoax emails around I'm sure you get this question a lot!

Kind regards,

Damian P

Damian:

I don’t blame you for asking that question. I would have done the same. I’m a Contractor for USCIS and I take care of the scheduling for the Naturalization ceremonies. There was a miscommunication with the Illinois Courts and the wrong date was scheduled on the N-445 that you should have received in the mail. We are also having phone problems today so I couldn’t call you. If this still doesn’t satisfy your doubts, please call our Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 and they can verify that the ceremony is scheduled for December 19, 2014.

Thank you.

Thank you for prompt reply. I actually called the venue and they did indeed confirm that the ceremony is on Friday, 19th. Thank you SO much for your attention to detail!
