RFE June filer - Birth certificate?

Okay here is the problem.. We sent a copy of the birth certificate ( long version ) see picture. That's the one we made a copy of.

And i also attached my RFE letter.. My fiance says he 'thinks' he put the copy he in there. With this RFE we just dont know for sure.

Can anyone please look and see if this is a valid version? It has the offical stamp on it? why could this not be good?

My only thought could be that its a copy and therefore not good?

If so i'm just going to send this one the original one. I cant see a reason as to why i should apply for another one and send that one, if we have this version.

He doesn't have a pasport yet. We where plannig on getting one after i moved there so we could travel to see my family.

Has anyone seen this before?

Here are the pictures of the RFE and the birth certificate

i realize that that would be the best option.

I just want to know why this wouldn't be good enough...

It is an offical birth certificate..

I would rather not spend 300 dollars on a pasport and have this be enough..

If there could be any case that he forgot and others have send this too and got approved i would rather do that

He should get a passport. There are some you can get in a day or too.

Did you send a copy of the front and back of the birth certificate? It is possible that they simply misplaced your certificate in the jumble of things.

A copy is perfectly fine as long as it is the long form. Do not send the original that is yours, and you won't get it back otherwise. Additionally you'll need a copy if you ever wanted a passport. Passports don't cost that much money. You could call the USCIS and probably confirm that a copy is perfectly fine.

He didnt send a copy of the back he said it was blank and there was nothing on it..

I mean we could aways send this one and once im in the states apply for a certified copy?

would it be bad if we send the same one but just the original? ( he could have still forgotten to send it. but i highly doubt he did.)

they would RFE for that again wouldt they?

See if this thread helps a little http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/346612-front-back-copy-of-birth-certificate/

My back was also technically blank but there was a faint strip of a seal on the back. You could also write a statement and attach saying that this is a photocopy of the front and back of the birth certificate and that the back is blank. I'd suggest giving the USCIS a call if you are very concerned that it's the copy that's the problem. I'm sure it's not a problem. I'm a big fan of always keeping originals, just in case you know? You can either send in another photocopy of the certificate (again perhaps they are the ones that misplaced it) or obtain a certified copy from your clerk. I know people can sometimes have a heck of a time not being able to even obtain a copy of their certificates if you don't have the original or another form of ID, like a passport.

You won't receive it back. This is not the same as the old days when applying for a passport, where they would be kind enough to return it.

That's fine. We can always get another original at his birth town.

His mom who still lives there is going by the office to get an original. So we can send this out ASAP. And sometime next week he will receive another one from his mom.

You won't receive it back. This is not the same as the old days when applying for a passport, where they would be kind enough to return it.

Hey, maybe it is because he didn't send the back of his certificate. I don't think you should send the original. I would send the photocopy (Back and front) and get it notarized. I also also include a note saying the back of the certificate is blank.

Maybe they lost because his birth certificate should be enough as they say! I just sent a short version of his NY birth certificate and also included the first page (Bio page) of his passport. I thought it would be enough.

I would just call the USCIS first and check with them what you should do in regards to the birth certificate. Most of the people here sent only copies and I don't know if sending them the original document will make any difference. Just call first!!!
