My fiancee is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, bar none. However, we first got to know each other (and fall for each other) before we even saw what one another looked like. So while looks did "sweeten the package," they most definitely were not a determining factor. Our personalities meshed perfectly. :D

I first noticed his face but his eyes really hypnotized me, they are such a beautiful blue. And it sweetened the package but I love his personality more than anything ;)

For those who chose that looks are not a factor, how does that work? I'm not saying anything other than that I can't imagine not being attracted to my SO, and looks are a big part of that. Were you not interested in their looks and then later were?

Or do you just mean that you liked their looks but would have chosen them if they were hideous but had the same personality?

Yeah, I think the high proportion of "No, but it sweetened the deal" responses must be due to the fact that most people here met online and probably developed feelings before knowing what the other looked like.

a lot of us met our SO online... you get to know a person's insides first without really knowing what they look like, besides pics etc....

I know with me, I basically knew I loved him but I wanted to meet him in person to find out for sure..... The first thing I saw of him was his back and at that moment before I even saw his face I knew I loved him.... (L)

Don't get me wrong though, I am very attracted to my hubby... but a lot of that is because of who he is on the inside...

Ahhh... the online thing makes sense.
 We are a "met online" couple, and I didn't see what he actually looked like for a couple of weeks. (cuz he thought he was ugly and I wouldn't talk to him anymore) So thats why I ticked that it made it much sweeter.

I am not commenting on the whole do looks matter bit, because I got reemed once for my opinion lol.

I'm like Jenn. Stewart is 6'7". so I really did notice his height first. I have to see that looks did matter to me. I met him in person, so I was attracted to him before I knew him.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Me personally, I'm saying that looks had nothing to do with our inital attraction/falling in love. At the moment, a year and a half into the romantic relationship, yes I'm physically attracted to him as well. ;) The height is the first thing we noticed on his first visit after we fell in love. I looked up at him and he looked down at me and we were like dayum, we never noticed this height difference while he was a friar! He's 5'11" and I'm 5'6" - not a big difference but enough to surprise us that we never noticed it during our two year friendship!

I met my fiance in person, at a crowded party, and I was immediately attracted to him! I noticed him from across the room.

Once we approached each other, I saw what a great muscular build he has. I will never forget the way I felt the night I met my fiance (L)

Inside he is even more beautiful than outside - he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Hmm, his sweet smile and his beautiful dark eyes...*melting* :luv:

Actually the first thing I noticed about him was a Gauri Shankar rudraksha bead he had around his neck - they are pretty rare so I complimented him on it and we started talking about rudrakshas - since I am short and K is quite tall for a Nepali it was at my eye level, then I looked up and saw his sweet face (L) . When I came back to the US I did some research on rudrakshas and the Gauri Shankar represents Shiva and Shakti united and wearing it will help you to 'recognize your life partner'. It was certainly true in our case. :)

Eyes

As a determining factor-No, but it sweetened the package.

When we first started talking online, I didn't see a picture of him for over a month and I already was liking who I was talking to, though I wasn't in love yet...I think I was first drawn to his personality and so while I do think he is handsome, how handsome he was/wasn't didn't determine how I had already started feeling for him.

I think people can be attracted to someone without that person fitting the stereotype of what is good-looking. It's very subjective. I haven't been one to base things so much on looks, because I don't think it's fair. There are so many great people in this world being overlooked because they aren't "hot" enough.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

I met my husband in person, and the thing that really drew my to him was his personality. He was so sweet, gentle and kind that it didn't matter what he looked like. However, he is very cute in a kind of baby-faced way, and he has the most gorgeous eyes. These things always help....
