So we finally received our biometrics appointment letter, after submitting a case inquiry and waiting. We received the letter on 2/7/2015 for an appointment on 2/11/2015. Husband went to the appt. yesterday, and all went well, despite a 2 hour wait. Apparently the snowstorms in Boston are wreaking havoc on scheduling and wait times at the office here. They were shut down completely for several days, and he overheard people having to get rescheduled in March! So we were super lucky.

The strange thing though, is that last night I went to check case status to see if anything was updated yet, and now for both the I-485 and the I-765 it states that a notice could not be delivered and USPS returned the notice to USCIS, and to request additional information about it as it may delay our case. I think this must be in reference to the first biometrics letter that we didn't receive, but I can't believe it took that long for the post office to return it, and why would they put that as the case status when I've already submitted an inquiry and it's been resolved? The fact that the status is the same for the I-485 and the I-765 seems really clear to me that it would be the biometrics letter.

If they sent an RFE, wouldn't it say somewhere that an RFE was sent? Should I submit a new case inquiry regardless to find out? Or just wait a few days to see if the status changes now that biometrics have been done?

From what I gather after reading hundreds of posts here; there is a complete disconnect between what is actually happening in the offices with our cases and what the letters say that they send to us; and even more of a disconnect between actual situation and the postings on the case status websites.

Not that this can make you feel better; but seems that's the way it is.

Don't expect anything too soon.

I'm a November filer (NOA dated: 11/24) and I haven't received any word on EAD/AP/AOS.

No RFE and did Biometrics in December. USCIS are definitely behind and it won't help with DACA.

Did you do your biometrics?

They said you need a joint sponsor?

Make sure his income is for the most recent year. USCIS evaluates the last income... That's why they prob want to see the W-2, to make sure he made enough in 2014 too. That's what it seems like.

I'm not very clear on what your RFE asked for, you might wanna exlpain it more.
