Hi Leo,

I already knew my husband's income tax was not enough. I put my car as an asset to complement the income. But, that was wrong, I later read I-864. You can not use a vehicle as an imediate asset if this is your only vehicle. You can use the vehicle if you have another one that you can use to drive. And I am assuming both need to be paid off. So now I sent them my account balance with U$88,000.00 dollars... I think cash should be good enough to cover whatever my hubby didn't have. Cash came from a condo sale and I put proof of that so they don't think that I just randomly got some money in my account to show them, it's important to do that.

And, if you read instructions for I-864, they will only count one fifth of assets toward the yearly income needed. So $17,600 in this case, which should be enough when added to existing income . . . unless you have 10 children or so !! :-))

Did Biometrics yesterday and a few hours after I got home I got a text "Request for Evidence". I want to believe that it as to do with the tax return what my husband printed from the IRS website. My question is for you guys who didn't get a RFE what tax return did you sent in with your package? Still waiting for the mail will update soon.

I am sorry you got an RFE, I know that once you send what they are asking you for it will be okay. I actually sent IRS transcripts for my previous 3 tax years 2011, 2012, and 2013 along with complete copies of my tax returns and W2 forms.

Good luck and hope you get the hard copy of the notice soon!

QUESTION:

I FILLED OUT ds 260 ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO BUT STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CONFIRMATION FROM KCC as the spread sheet mentions. I just got the automatic confirmation email immediately after I submitted my DS 260. Should I do anything in this regard?

  1. also the confirmation page says: "contact your local USCIS field office for further instructions on how to book an appointment". I mean what they have said in this confirmation email is not included in the spread sheet prepared by "MOM".
  2. Shouldn't we just wait till our case number becomes current according to the visa bulletin?
  3. thanks

Ha, yeah that's right! I also think it's plenty. No children, just us two!! Now waiting for USCIS to schedule my interview or send me an EAD! Praying for my RFE to be accurate! :star:

gaia12, did you receive your interview schedule yet?

Nope. From what I hear, it can take 2-4 months after that status change, so I am not expecting it any time soon. Hoping to get an update on my EAD+AP soon though. They are still at "Case was received". Any updates on your end?

So what were you missing . . . something you knew was required and just forgot about . . . or they wanted something you never knew about before ?

I wasn't missing anything it turns out, they just wanted more. It was about the I-864, ability to provide financial support.. I had sent them my previous 3 years of irs tax transcripts, etc. They asked me for pay stubs, a letter from my employer stating my salary, W2s, bank statements etc

I think it was because my last tax transcript showed my return was filed jointly with my wife (who i am sponsoring) so it wasn't clear on that that it was my income, when it could have been hers.

We got the letter this past saturday, they received our response on wednesday and on Thursday the I-485 status went to "Response received"...

annoying to get that RFE but at least we were able to give them everything they wanted quickly. hopefully they're satisfied now

Hi Miggg,

It is very frustrating to get an RFE in a process that is already slow... But we have to be patient! :) My RFE was also related to $, I feel like many RFEs are either: money or birth certificate/divorce certificate related!

USCIS received my RFE response on 2/2, I received the notifications that they received it, and that has been it so far...

Same here, no EAD or notice for interview yet! Still waiting for RFE to be accepted... Do they send something saying they accepted your RFE or do they just move on to schedule interview and produce EAD?
