Is it allowed to go to the interview without a spouse?? I thought that was equal with a failure. You don't really have to prepare in my opinion. All they test is the authenticity of the marriage. If it really is, there's nothing to worry about. Just have enough evidence, know what you are supposed to know (your wedding date, spouse's DOB, etc) and tell the truth.

When your spouse is overseas serving the country is different. If your spouse were here, then yeah he/she would have to go.

Hi Lettyana,

Ugh, oh no! I had an RFE :( I a sorry you got one too! Mine was for lack of proof of financial support on the I-864. It is a very common RFE. There are also requests for birth certificate, divorce certificates, not signed applications, proof of bona fide marriage, they vary.

You should receive it soon! like 7 days after the e-mail.

And thank you, now it's only 2 weeks away!!!!

MrsHopkins, i hope to get it tomorrow or on Friday, hopefully it'd be something minor and not a request for joint sponsor. Hope to hear from you after your interview.

Guys, why are you waiting for the actual SSN card? When you applied, they should've give you the paper with your SSN number on it. So if you want to apply for a job or a driver license, you can just use the number, that all they will want, no one ever asked me for the actual paper card.

That's what I thought too. They don't give you a ssn at the time you apply because they have to verify the validity of your immigration document with USCIS. So, they send your info to USCIS and wait for their response. Then they issue you a #. I asked the teller if she was going to give me my ssn at the time I applied but that's what she said to me.

Oh I see, guess it's different. I have mine since 2011, when I came here for the first time, so I guess it'll be easier for me to change it. Because as long as I know you get your SSN once for the rest of your life, so in my case I think they will just need to issue another paper card without any restrictions on it. From what type of visa are you adjusting?

Absolutely, you already have a social you can already do many things. When it's the first SSN, you need to wait for the card. I'm adjusting from F1, hbu??

Hi every one, any one in chicago received interview notice ?

Am a anovember filer, filed November/15 but don't know some one in November or December or even October who received a notice :(

Hi Noona,

WOW! That's awful. I believe one of the members from November has already had their intervirew in February, bellylaugh is their name. Not sure where they are from. Here in December there are a few interview notices already received.

But I can tell you about me, I applied December 8th, 2014, received my interview notice March 2nd, 2015.

My interview is April 14th, 2015.

Good luck! Hang in there. Any RFEs?
