Thanks Mrs. Hopkins!

I just don't really know where to look. Indeed.com or are there agencies where it's worth dropping off my resume? I'm kind of an uncertain type.

By the way, I can confirm that there are delays in New York, based on my experience. I filed in November and my interview hasn't even been scheduled yet. Sounds like a really long process...

Hi Manch!

Look up Craigslist! I found my apartment there, my husband's job there, a couch... You can find everything! Just be careful with scams. I love Craigslist. Indeed is also good, I have been searching on it too. Also ask your friends around your area, the easiest way to get a job is by indication.

Wow, it does look like NY is slower, sorry guys! Just try not to think about it and one day the text messaged and e-mails will show up :)

Hey,

I did. That's not true. You only have to have your social security card. Go back and enlighten that "nice" lady.

New York office as most other north eastern offices closed for many days during the snow storm. That's the main reason for falling behind other offices.

It's funny how we were so eager for the EAD and now after we got it, all we need is a job :P

The rules vary substantially from state to state.

Best thing to do is to call several different offices, even within the same state.

Different persons answering the phone can give different answers.

Ask a lot of questions of each person, and you will start to get a better feel for the

real answers.

Of course, go to official website for DMV in your state and read extensively also.

Another useful tactic; try to talk to people in the International Student office at

a nearby University. They also keep up on the rules as many students would be affected.

Some later filers might get earlier interviews for 1 main reason. They came on a K-1 visa. K-1 visa adjustors fet earlier interviews because most of their administrative work is done when they got the visa in their home countries. All other visa holders need more time to get their interviews because they make sure they did not intend to use their non-immigrant visas for immigration purposes.

I think, but am not sure, that you are wrong.

First, most K-1 situations get a waiver of the interview; but it takes them longer on average to get the green card.

Second, prior intent is no longer used as a reason to deny AOS; they don't even try to determine intent, but this is only for those who marry a US Citizen.. If you come on a work visa and then try to AOS on your own, they still investigate intent.

Yay! Just got a Case Status update. Interview has been scheduled for April 23rd, 2015!!! This is way faster than I was expecting for Boston. I'm so excited!

Oh hey, you're near me! My office is Manchester, NH! Congrats! It is going fast for an office that probably has a loooooooooot of applications! How was it when you went for biometrics?

A member of February group just got his interview date of 22 April 2015.

I learned that we can't compare cases! I have a friend from another forum who has applied since August, 2014 and no interview date. Out of Texas. ugh
