Hey guys,

Just received this morning text messages and e-mail saying that my interview was scheduled for April 14th! YAY!

For information purposes, I don't know if you guys read that I went for an Infopass appointment last Friday. The lady said she could not do anything... I think she might have. Either she contacted NBC to see if they had an answer on my RFE or it coincidentally got approved.

Note that I did not have a change of "Ready to Interview" or "RFE approved" or anything like that. It went straight from "We received your RFE" to "Interview Scheduled"

Hope the information helps and I hope you guys have a lot of strength to wait for USCIS :)

I have a feeling Boston is moving a lot slower than a lot of other local offices, and there don't seem to be many people from Boston updating their timelines, so it's been hard to guess averages.

Thank you so much!

I was looking at your timeline and they got your AOS on 12/10, so you're still ok. They received mine 12/08, a couple of days before you. You should get something soon! If not, go for an infopass!

Btw, I'm so excited because today is my husband's birthday and I got the gift, haha! Well we both did.

Did anyone go for the interview yet?

Congrats for the interview. I don't think it always goes in order gkes mine was sent in dec. 29. The interview date depends on the local office and how much busy it is cuz they are the one who schedule it. So people in city X would be less busy than city Y and schedule interview earlier.

I don't think anyone has gone to an interview yet cuz our timeline is one of the fastest in this process. However I have read many reviews and all say that it is a friendly and short interview. All you have to do is be calm and natural and not to try to over-smart them. Take wedding photos and common lease contracts or bank accounts. Remember the names of each other's parents. Make sure you know each other's birth dates and the date of ur marriage.

Overall, very simple and friendly interview.

Good luck

MrsHopkins, I saw you live in NH, so do we. I am so glad to see someone who's going through the AOS process and live in the same state. Congratulations for getting the interview date!

You are far ahead of us in this process, so if you don't mind, can you please answer a question about the biometrics in Manchester field office? Your timeline says that you did it before your appointment date, how did it go? Do you just show up or do you need to make an appointment? I think we will do this too, but we live in Portsmouth, so its an hour drive and I just wanted to make sure it won't be a waste of time and gas driving there and get an answer to come back on our appointment date. Thank you.

Lettyana, many have gone for biometrics before their appointment date and been successful.

However, I have noted on this website several who were turned away and told to come back at their scheduled time.

So there is risk, and your deciding factor will be how long is the trip to go there and back.

For my wife and I, it was around 7 hours round trip including lunch, etc., so no worth the risk.

Others have been 5-15 minutes away, so little to no risk with respect to wasted time.

From my experience, going to a walk in appointment does not make your process go faster. I did not go before my appointment although the office is 2 mins away from my house, but i still had my interview scheduled before many others who did although we had similar application dates.

From observation to other people's timelines, the time between the application and approving the EAD or scheduling the interview is NOT AT ALL affected by whether u go for the biometrics earlier or later. I did this comparison and that's why I did not bother myself.

Thanks and wish you very good luck and PATIENCE..

I'm still in the "ready to be scheduled for an interview." phase. Have been for 3 months, though...

mazen1c,

I saw that you got schedules, congratulations!! That is great even more bc you were a late December filer. But, I must remind you that my case had an RFE that held it up for 38 days! That's why my interview was scheduled after yours...

I do agree that every office is different, busier, larger or smaller and it all depends.

Good luck to you too! Hopefully it will be as smooth as we want to. Let's study those questions :)

Hi Lettyana!

So glad to see someone else from NH, New England \o/ and thank you!!

Well, about biometrics I can certainly tell you how it went. First of all you have to wait for your appointment letter. I live in Nashua, so I am 20-25 min from the Manchester office. I received my appointment for Dec 31st and I thought that being New Year's eve we could decide to travel or whatever. Either way, I went earlier because I'm just anxious and whatever I can do early I will. Manchester is a super small office, as our state is, one of the smallest in the country! When you get in there, don't know if you've ever been there, the security guys are super friendly. You need an ID and the appointment letter. They guide you to where biometrics is. I walked in, in the afternoon and there was 1 person sitting waiting to get biometrics done. I went to the front desk the lady asked for the appointment. I gave it to her and explained it was New Year's Eve and we were going to travel. She asked for itinerary and I said it was by car. So, if you decide to go, bring and itinerary or something to prove your trip. Or if you have an appointment or anything that will happen on the day that you are scheduled, bring it. It's worth a try... If you come near Manch sometime. She let me do it, I think they will let most people do it. How are you not going to take someone when there is NO ONE waiting? lol.

Good luck to you! Hopefully your package was complete and you do not get an RFE asking for anything else because that was the worst... I wish I had read a little bit more about the Affidavit of Support, that way I wouldn't have made the mistake I did.

Hi Manchester,

Yes, my interview is scheduled for April 14th. I filed everything Dec 8th and I had an RFE in the middle that made it longer. Mazen1c also has his/her interview scheduled, he applied Dec 29th.

If you've been waiting since November, I suggest you making an Infopass appointment! I went for an appointment a few days before I received the interview notice and the IO said there was nothing she could do but maybe she did after I left... And I also called the toll free number about my EAD that was over 75 days and same day it was approved.

It's worth a shot calling and going for an Infopass! Good luck.

Hello Mrs. Hopkins,

Thanks for your advice. I think I will wait a little more then I will inquiry about my case. Good luck for your upcoming interview!

I have a feeling its something to do with New York, there are so many applicants in New York it seems the local offices get over loaded and can not cope, Also it seems like one of the local centers in NY has been closed for a few months which will also be delaying things. If you do make an inquiry kindly update us on the outcome.
