Hi Mrs Hopkins,

I don't have any change yet on my case maybe by Monday it will say mailed as well, as for the tracking number I noticed earlier in the thread someone mention that it updated to picked up by USPS and that is when they received the tracking number.

My guess is that is says mailed when they move it into their mail room, it is not actually with USPS at that point so when they do come and do collections, they are then assigned the tracking number which is then uploaded into our individual case status.

Hi Mayfield,

So, the tracking number did appear on my case status. I received yesterday (2/28) another update saying that they had mailed my card and giving me the tracking number.

When I went in to check where the package was, it was already in my State. I don't think it was delivered next day because today is Sunday. It says that it will be delivered tomorrow (3/2 Monday).

Assuming it all goes well, I should get my EAD tomorrow and that makes it 7 days after approved.

You had yours approved on the 24th so you should be getting it soon!

You should get a separate update saying that USPS picked up your case. I didn't get a tracking number until that update.

On a different note, my EAD suddenly showed up in my mailbox today. I don't know if it had to do with me calling USPS, but there wasn't a tracking update for 8 days. Ironically the tracking still says "on time - expected delivery date February 23" It's really pretty useless.

Thank you for the tip!

Yes, I did get the tracking when they had it mailed. They mailed it on the 27th and I got the tracking on the 28th. It should arrive tomorrow.

Ugh, I'm sorry about that! It's so annoying when we have no idea what is going on and we just have to blindly wait for USCIS... But hey, it's in your hands so the outcome was good.

I received my ead today, took only one day for the shipping. pretty happy about it. Not change on i485 though

Hey guys, just wanted to update that I received my EAD yesterday. Exactly 3 days after it was mailed (because it was weekend). The envelope said 2-day priority mail. Before it was delivered at my house, I created a profile with USPS and requested for the package to be left in my mailbox, because I didn't know if it required a signature. Didn't want to take the chance to not be home!

Then today I went to the Social Security to apply for a SSN. They don't even ask for anything else but your EAD. They will ask for mom and dad's name. Still, I took all my documents with me.

One curious thing was that my EAD had not been issued for more than 10 days so the clerk was not able to send through my application, so she made copies of everything and will send it by the end of the week. Told me up to 4 weeks for the card to arrive.

Any other experiences?

Congrats MrsHopkins. I received an email notification last 2/26 that my EAD was ordered for production. Hoping to get an update soon.

Do they ask for the current passport when applying for SSN? Because mine was expired.

Actually scratch my last comment, I just got an update that it was delivered today, I'm not home yet so will check and confirm once I get home, next stop SSN, DMV and then wait continues for the Interview, which I'm not expecting anytime soon as I have seen in the November filling thread, New york people have not been invited for interviews and when I check the New York service centers It doesn't seem accurate so looks like I have a Long wait.

Hey guys, i went to the social security office yesterday, they told me to wait up to 4 weeks so they can verify the info with homeland and security, then i came home and talked to a friend who did the process a few months ago, he told me they said the same to him, but he actually went like 2 days after to check the status and his number was already in system, plus he received the card after 5 days. He thinks they say that so people dont bother them calling and asking questions if the process doesnt goes smooth, so im hoping getting my card next monday. I havent heard from interview yet though. Good luck to everyone

So our current update is that we called USCIS on Monday to open a case inquiry, in order to request a replacement EAD. We were told we will receive a response by March 17th, which hopefully means they'll mail a new card by then. At least my husband doesn't have a job lined up yet, as he's still finishing up his classes, so it's not causing any real problems for us. It's just been inconvenient.

Congrats to everyone who's gotten their EAD cards! Your postmen are awesome for actually delivering your mail! Haha. :)

They do not ask for the passport! I would bring it with you even if it's expired... They do ask what type of I-94 you had last.
