Some of you can be waiting for drivers license too long.

In some states you can go to SS office and obtain piece of paper saying they will not issue you SS card.

Then, you take that paper to DMV with passport, and you can get drivers license (if you can pass written and driving test that is).

Yes, I know the rules are different for different states; but give it a try before just giving up.

Congrats to everyone who got their EADs approved! Please share when you receive it. Mine was approved and put in production on 2/23, I'll keep you guys posted on when it arrives.

Those of you who did not get it yet, remember the 75-day rule! Call USCIS if you reach it.

Leo, good advice on the driver's license, whoever still needs to get one could try it! Bring the NOAs to say that you're waiting on your green card. Who knows.

I can't believe the terrible luck we've had with the postal service. First they lost our biometrics appointment. Now the USPS tracking says the EAD card was delivered on Tuesday, the 24th, and we never got it. So the postman gave our EAD priority mail package to someone else I guess. We were hoping maybe it went to a neighbor's mailbox and that someone might drop it off, but nothing. So now I get to call USPS today to complain. Fortunately, husband doesn't have a job lined up yet, so we have some time, but now I'm terrified that the Green Card will go missing in the mail too!

Similar situation here. My EAD was mailed last Friday and I got a tracking number, but when I check the status, there has been no update since the 20th (last status: letter departed Knoxville sorting facility). I'm worried that USPS lost my letter!! I called them yesterday and they opened an inquiry, so we will see what happens.

This USPS saga is not cool. How can they give your EAD to someone else? UGH! Definitely go there and do complain and let us know if you got it.

So, how do you get the tracking number, do they put it on your case status once they mail it out?

Anyone approved on the 24th has already received their tracking number?

Hello, Mrs hopkins,

No, not yet my status changed on the 24th, but its not been mailed yet. I have noticed it tends to take about 7-8 days from the first change till when it is delivered. the only updates i have is the AP changed to case was approved, while in the EAD it changed from new car in production to card was ordered to be produced or something like that.

Hi Mayfield,

I actually just got a change on my case, it says card has been mailed on Feb 27th. I didn't receive a tracking number though. You're right, it's about 10 days from card in production. Let's see!

You should see the change to 'card mailed', but if you don't just wait for it in the mail.

Not everyone gets all of the notices and changes on the case status page!

Hi Mrs Hopkins,

I don't have any change yet on my case maybe by Monday it will say mailed as well, as for the tracking number I noticed earlier in the thread someone mention that it updated to picked up by USPS and that is when they received the tracking number.

My guess is that is says mailed when they move it into their mail room, it is not actually with USPS at that point so when they do come and do collections, they are then assigned the tracking number which is then uploaded into our individual case status.

Yes, this is what happened with mine, and I believe my post is the one you're referring to. Case status changed to mailed, and then a day or two later, it said it was picked up by USPS and had the tracking information, and a link to USPS. So I assume they will do this with everyone, just keep checking your status everyday.

As for my EAD, I've complained several times to the post office, no one seems to know what happened to my priority mail envelope with the EAD. They keep saying they think it will turn up, but I'm just so angry. So we'll be calling USCIS on Monday to see if they can send another one. I've also now put a hold on all of our mail, so that I can just pick it all up at the post office. I no longer trust their delivery drivers to get us all of our mail. I've lost several important personal documents in the last four months (including two social security cards, and now two immigration documents). I'm trying hard to just get it sorted, but it's ridiculous.

You should get a separate update saying that USPS picked up your case. I didn't get a tracking number until that update.

On a different note, my EAD suddenly showed up in my mailbox today. I don't know if it had to do with me calling USPS, but there wasn't a tracking update for 8 days. Ironically the tracking still says "on time - expected delivery date February 23" It's really pretty useless.
