No. You don't need the visa. But you do need your passport which i know thw embassy keeps till they return your visa.

That's what I read on some sites too, but I think I overheard some of the interviewees yesterday that they did the CFO already. Anyway, Thank you!

Congratulations deone u made it!!!! Told u

.. if u got photocopy of ur passport biopage u may now do ur seminar at cfo... u dont need to wait for ur visa... i did mine a day before my interview but a friend of mine took her cfo seminar after our interview glad she found extra copy of her passport biopage n if u live near manila n if u had ur visa better get ur sticker at cfo office so u wont end up calling for hundred times to get.through at naia cfo n i just called cfo naia terminal 1 yesterday as Hank says called 3 days before departure for my sticker n finally a nice lady answered my call n i could get my cfo sticker on tuesday on the day of my departure...

Thanks so much brien!

Oh okay, do you still need all the other credentials like the CENOMAR and NBI? I'm afraid I already gave my last copies to the US EMBASSY. But on the CFO Website, they don't mention any of it. I think I'll just do what you did and get the sticker at NAIA. I live all the way from Zambales and I'm expecting the visa a few days shy of my scheduled flight ??.

Embassy interview scheduled!! Wow, it's been a whirlwind since my love got her Postal ID. 1 day after she received the postal ID she applied for and was approved for a passport. A few days ago she got her passport. Visa fees are paid, medical pre-registration complete and she's flying to Manila this weekend!

Quick question- Does the embassy keep her passport? Follow up Q- Can she attend CFO without her passport if the embassy takes it but she has photocopies? Like everyone else, I'd like to get her here as soon as possible.

For those of you that just went through this process - How long did it take to receive the Visa? When should I plan to buy a plane ticket?

I'll definitely be posting my experience with the postal ID to help out others in the Philippines forum. Just haven't had a chance yet. If you're reading this and you're still trying to get appropriate IDs, GET THE POSTAL ID!

First, she does leave her passport at the embassy coz that's what they send her with the visa.

In the CFO, her passport bio page photocopy is fine and two valid ids too. They're gonna ask for two.

I got my visa after 9 days but it was issued after 6.

So maybe 2-3weeks after her interview, it would be safe to book her flight. Just a suggestion, it would be best for her to pick her visa up at MOA 2go branch if you want to shave a few days off the waiting and if that's after her CFO, ahe can just go there and get her sticker. If she does the CFO without her visa, she'll only get the certificate and would need to go back with her visa to get the sticker.

Embassy interview was yesterday. I believe we're approved on everything contingent on a DNA test between my fiance and her son. The embassy needed proof that her son (K2) was really her son. A DNA test is requested. I hadn't read anything about the potential for a DNA test so both my love and I are pretty crushed that we now have to wait another 30-60 days to order the test from the US, send it to the Philippines and wait for the Embassy to review the test.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I already have the DNA test kits ordered and soon enroute to the Manila Embassy. Any other way to make the process go smoother?

Thank you!
