There used to be a automated system when you called NVC but it's been down since forever. Your other option would be to wait for the confirmation letter from NVC which has the case number on it. But for sure the fastest way is to keep calling and get it from them directly. Just be prepared to redial a good 20-30x especially during peak hours.

The letter from NVC is hit or miss in terms of ever actually receiving it based on individual postings on VJ. I received one, but I'm one of the select few I think.

Yeah. Im still waiting for the nvc letter after i called them twice. Thank goodness i found a way around having the hardcopy. They still won't send it to me.

I haven't heard of a need for it, except to say you have your case number and that it was sent.

Im learning that everyone is different but for the Philippines you need it for the medical. Thanks to the help I got from this board, I was told to print out a screen shot of the NVC website showing our status and they accepted thaf thabk goodness.

So when calling the NVC do you really need your fiancee's passport number and how it is written on her passport?

no you don't need passport number. You need the fiancee's name, date of birth and the USCIS receipt number from your NOA1 letter/email/text

Yep just keep calling back every other day until you get it. Don't get frustrated by the busy message... Hopefully they can tell you when your package was mailed out to the embassy too so you can track it's transit via the DHL site.

Remember to get the case number AND the invoice number so you can track your process on the CEAC site later and fill out your DS160 form online. If you speak to a nice officer they usually give you both automatically but just in case. cheers!

They will always give you that speech if your info isn't in the system yet or they are just too lazy to even check... call back again until you get it. I called about 3 weeks after receiving my NOA1. I got a really nice guy that was super helpful in answering all my questions. First i confirmed with him if NVC had received my packet. One what date so i could update my timeline. Then I asked him if my packet had been sent to the consulate yet? Then on what date? Also confirmed if they would be sending me a hardcopy NOA2 letter. I finally thanked him for his great customer service and wished him a good weekend.

K1 Visa Process:

For the Philippines you don't need the letter you can print a screenshot of the ceac website that shows you are ready. My fiancevwill be here today and I just received our letter from the NVC two days ago

I called and received our number within 3 weeks of getting NOA2. I waited and called late at night also. Keep calling until you out get through and get your case number
