I think it's a toss up as to whether or not those letters get sent, to be honest. I wouldn't really worry about it-from what has been described on the forum, it just has the information you collect from the customer service rep. (case number, invoice number, beneficiary number).

Everytime I check my case number it shows the same thing follow the intsructions. Does this mean they`re still processing the case and it is still with them. The NVC phone number is bussy everytime is this normal.thks

Mine hasn't updated either. I think during this initial stage, you either get at NVC / In Transit / At Embassy. I don't have anything else-no dates updated, etc. I think the general rule of thumb has been it's at the NVC for 1-2 weeks before heading off to the respective embassy.

I've heard tge same about the NVC# number. Only issue is. The medical is asking for that as an included documents

There's a possibility you could receive that letter this week-they don't typically send them until they have mailed the petition to the embassy.

I realize that, however, your petition left NVC on Friday. I would say if you haven't received anything from them by this tomorrow, call them.

Check back on the DHL site the next couple of days. It takes about 24 hours for the details to updates online. Yeah you're waiting for packet 3 with the checklist and instructions about scheduling medical exam and what to start collecting for interview (police report, etc). See the tokyo embassy info here to see what you need and get a head start first: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Japan&cty=Tokyo

It's a good idea to apply for the police report asap since sometimes it could take 1-2 months to receive it or if you need to translate the birth certificate into english.

Do we need to do anything with the invoice number right now? We don't need to pay anything else just yet, right?

nope dont need the invoice number now except to look up your status on the ceac site. You need the case number to fill out the DS160 form online. The next thing to pay for will be the medical/vaccines exam when your fiancee goes to the drs office. But wait for the checklist in packet 3 to get exact details.
