Not yet. But I just got the number last night and it should take about a week to get something i hear. I need to send a copy of it to my fiancee so im Hoping it will come soon.

Thanks. I was on hold for 30 minutes last night and didn't get anything. I figured it was too soon anyway.

Don't forget to send a copy of NOA2 as well!

Hi all. Not sure if I belong here or in January...

I called and received my case # from the Nvc today. I'm not sure what happens next. I totally can't get the Dhl tracking thing to work. I don't know if it's because I'm in my phone. Will the Nvc notify me when they mail the embassy? What can I actually do with my case number? Lol. TIA!

All consulates are different. Im able to make my embassy interview appointment with my embassy with the nvc#.

You can check the status of your file to see if it's been sent yet through the nvc website. Just enter your nvc# and it will tell you if its been mailed.

I started calling everyday after a week of receiving the NOA2. Now that I think about it, maybe I could've gotten my case number faster if it weren't for those 2 snow days.

I'm thankful for all the good info on this site. Thanks everyone.

I am having ZERO luck getting thru to the infamous NVC. Actually, the very first time I called....wait for it...I got thru! I pressed "1" and then received a long message in English then in Spanish that didn't apply to K1's anyway. So I hung up...and haven't gotten thru once since.

What happens if I just wait and don't call them? When/How will I get my fiancé's MLS#?

NVC will send you a notice in the mail once your case has been processed. Calling is just to get advanced notice as far as I know

Thanks, William, and thanks again for replying to my previous email.

That said, the $40,000 question is...when? If the NVC is like USCIS, I wonder if they might take weeks to mail it while my fiancé just stands by not making her St. Lukes appt. and scheduling her interview, etc.

I don't mind a long hold time, but calling, calling, and calling, and calling another 10X, to just get a voice message saying "call later" is getting extremely annoying...

Pardon me for venting.
