NOA2 hard copy received! Yay! So, I thought the notice would have more instructions but it actually doesn't. We should call NVC right? When it said to call the consulate, it meant NVC? Sorry, I have been reading but somehow all this excitement is making me nuts. What are the next steps again? Lol. It's to call NVC and ask for a case number right? Then what?

call nvc after 2 weeks so far right now nvc wer close due to bad weather

Some areas got 3 foot of snow, I am surprised they are opening at 3:30PM today and not waiting until tomorrow. I am happy you got NOA2 already, I am still waiting for any news from CSC on my application, guess i am stuck on the bottom of somebody's desk. Such is life

Good Luck at NVC

Yeah, with this snow, I might wait a couple more days to start calling. Was going to give my first call a week from Friday, but might wait until the following Wednesday (11 Feb).

Despite both being in New Hampshire, the NVC and the NPC are different. Although i think they are both in the same building so it could be they are both closed but the NVC still says they will open at 3. Probably will get flooded with calls im sure.

As far as i know you can get pay your embassy fees as soon as you know your NVC#. I wish i could give you a better answer. Im dealing with a different embassy

William, my fiance just asked me last night what she could do now (I said only get passport and birth certificate, both of which she already has). Do you know if we can proceed with everything once we finally get our NVC #? Or need we wait for her to receive her official letter?

Thanks and let's hope this all goes smoothly for us!

After 23 redials and 30 minutes on hold I got through to someone at the NVC today. Looks like my info was received on Monday but hasn't been assigned a case number yet.

Anyone know the approximate average time from receipt at the NVC to a case number being assigned? The guy at the NVC said it can be as long as 42 days but I'm assuming(hoping) that's the worst case scenario.

Also, for the iPhone owners out there calling NVC the app AutoRedial helps a lot.

I think the main thing when calling is to not choose option 1 (cases delivered to NVC under 35 days ago) because that will route you to a recording telling you to piss off and be patient. If you hang on the line after that I believe it asks for either spanish or english then you will be put on hold for an agent. You will need the USCIS receipt number found on your NOA2 and you and your significant other's name/dob.
