Ok. Thanks. The reason that is konda confusing is because more than a few timelines have the NVC number date and the nvc recieve date the same day or just a few days apart.

yes as with anything with the gov't sometimes you get lucky and things are processed faster. But they also have avg timelines. If you're super lucky you get the case number assigned in about 1 business day lol but if not it could take weeks or to a month... see the other threads about ppl being stuck at nvc over a month without a case number and course of action. Definitely if you're at 30 days without a case number start raising a red flag.

Hi everyone! I regularly check the site for our case status and they received the I-29f January 7,2015 and my fiancé received the NOA1 on January 12,2015.

I just checked again and it said our case was approved and they'll send our approval notice. Is that already for the NOA2? Or they might still send us an RFE?

Fellow, December filiers: I'm very much looking forward to updates on this thread re NVC processing (with regards to all three NVC stages). For your convenience, here's another thread dedicated to NOA2 to NVC processing:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/526480-noa2-to-nvc-have-you-been-waiting-more-than-a-month/page-26#entry7446023

It would appear based on posts in that thread, the NVC is very much like the USCIS: inconsistent in the extreme. Some posters experience very quick turnarounds; others experience massive, unexplained delays and end up contacting their respective Congresspersons in effort to move things along.

Best wishes to all fellow December 2014 filers!

For those calling NVC these last 2 days dont expect to get anything done since they are closed due to the snow...

Due to extremely hazardous weather conditions, the National Visa Center will close at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 and will remain closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. We apologize for any inconvenience.

NOA2 hard copy received! Yay! So, I thought the notice would have more instructions but it actually doesn't. We should call NVC right? When it said to call the consulate, it meant NVC? Sorry, I have been reading but somehow all this excitement is making me nuts. What are the next steps again? Lol. It's to call NVC and ask for a case number right? Then what?
