Oh, man. I thought I was doing well with the wait before I saw all the quick approvals from the CSC on this thread. I submitted our I129F a month ago on 12/22/14 and received the electronic NOA1 on 12/30/14 (said it was received on 12/24 though), then the hard copy around 01/04/15. It's being processed at the TSC. I didn't expect to feel so sad after reading this! I am glad that there are that fewer couples suffering through this process, but I just can't believe the disparity between the two centers. So discouraging.

Does anyone know if after you receive NOA2 if the USCIS website is obsolete for the rest of the K-1 process? Or does it update one last time when they ship it to NVC?

Good question. To my knowledge, the hard copy NOA2 is hopefully the last you'll hear of the uscis. They should ship it pretty soon after you receive the hardcopy.

Thank you. I can't find anything on the forums regarding that question, which is why I thought I would ask. How long after I receive the hardcopy should I begin dedicating chunks of time during the day to start hounding / harassing NVC? 2 weeks?

You only need call once a day but you can begin your harassment about a week after your original receipt date. Honestly though. Don't get your hopes up until you are a solid two weeks after and even then they will tell you 35 days every time they have nothing for you.

Thanks. I figure I'll start calling around 14 February. That's almost a month.

California don't update USCIS when they've sent your case to NVC, I think TSC do though :)

The CEAC tracker will be your new best friend once you have your case number :)

yeah the USCIS state pretty much becomes obsolete after NOA2 for the CSC ppl. If you get your case number track it on the CEAC site and track your actual packet's jouney to the embassy on the DHL site.

Thank you, both of you! By any chance, what time of day did you find best to call the NVC? I see you both waited about 20+ days from NOA2 to start calling them.

Yeah the general consensus seems to be its best to either call really early in the morning or really late at night.

See the detailed discussion about what number to call and how to get pass the automated msg to speak to an operator. Or if you're really lucky the automated system might just tell you the case number. Note it takes about 2 business days before the automated system is updated with case numbers as people have reported. But yeah note you most likely will have to call at least 20-50x before you get past the busy signal lol. Auto-redial until you get through...then wait to be on hold again too.

i would phone about 8/9ish at night and i would be on hold about 30 minutes :) but i phoned everyday from just after christmas cause I was so impatient!

Yeah, I started calling two weeks after approval a few times a week to see. I am on the West Coast so would call on my way to the gym in the morning around 5:30PST (eeesh). The earlier, the better. There were a few times I would call later in the morning and it was much harder to get through.

Same as Kimberly, I would call around 10 times until I got through and then be on hold 20-30 minutes before I spoke to a rep.

Good luck!!!!! Try to wait until two weeks to start calling - it is super disappointing when they don't have it after all that time on hold! From what I can see, it looks like the three week after approval time is the sweet spot to call and get your number.

Great, thank you! I'll probably wait 2 weeks from receiving my NOA2 Hardcopy. What information do you typically provide them on the phone? Just your receipt number?
