Just curious...

Has anyone who has been approved been able to get their case number from NVC yet? We were approved about 2.5 weeks ago and I haven't had much luck calling thus far. I know they say 35 days but was hoping I would be able to find out sooner rather than later.

Good luck everyone!

Have you received your hard copy of the NOA2 yet? We were approved on 12/29 (saw it on the website) but I never got the text/email update or the hard copy yet. Just wondering if any else was in the same boat.

Called the NVC a couple of days ago and was told they haven't received our case yet.

Hi Jon & Lily,

Yeah, I saw that we were approved on 1/2 via the USCIS site and then got the hardcopy about a week later in the mail.

I don't expect NVC to have our case yet but doesn't hurt to try!

Just a random thought did you guys enable Text/Email notifications on the uscis site when updates change? I noticed they are disabled by default and had to turn them on manually.

Wow, the Texas Service Centre is really slow! I can't believe your I-29f got processed so quickly by the Califorina office, Kimberley95! We filled ours end of November 2014 and we're still waiting for the hard copy of our NOA1! Estimated decision date of between May and July 2015 just for USCIS :crying:

K1 Application Process
20th November 2014: Form I-29f sent recorded delivery to USCIS Lockbox
1st December 2014: USCIS received I-29f and sent application to Texas Service Centre for processing (confirmation email and text sent to petitioner on 4th December 2014)
7th January 2014: No sign of NOA1 receipt. My fiancé (the petitioner) contacted USCIS and was told they would send out a new receipt.
27th May 2015: Confirmation on USCIS website that case was approved. Waiting for formal NOA2. 177 days since application.
21st June 2015: U.S. Embassy in London received pack.
3rd August 2015: Medical completed and completed Notification of Applicant Readiness form.
19th August 2015: Letter received from U.S. Embassy in London with interview date: 14th September 2015. 287 days since I-129F September 2015: K1 Visa approved!
17th October 2015: Married!

Adjustment of Status (AOS) Process
16th November 2015: Filed AOS paperwork along with Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and Advanced Parole (AP) requests.
19th November 2015: NOA1 received.
15th December 2015: Attended biometrics appointment.
2nd February 2016: Completed electronic service request for EAD. System wouldn't let me complete one for AP.
3rd February 2016: Received electronic notification via the USCIS app that my EAD was approved. AP case status never changed from "Application was received".
8th February 2016: Received NOA I-797 for EAD AND AP.
10th February 2016: Received EAD/AP combo card. Delivered by USPS with regular mail, no signature required.

This was probably my problem. I didn't create an account on the USCIS website, I was just checking the status using my case number. I just created an account and it looks like I had to enable text/email.

I and another poster on this forum had the exact same problem. No hard copy of the NAO1 ever came. The first time I called the tier 1 guy stated that the hard copy was not needed since I already had a copy of my reference number by email. Then when I got back from visiting my fiancee I called today and was put through a tier 2 representative and they stated they will send me a duplicate of the NAO1 reference number. You may want to call and see if you need it. The guy on the line stated that you probably would not need it, but could be asked for it. I requested that a new copy be sent since I never received one.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Yeah the NOA1 is not really needed for anything else, since it just shows your receipt number/receipt of payment, in the future. NOA2 is what you really need a hard copy of since you will need it when you file for AOS. You can see responses about people losing/never receiving noa1 also. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/403600-if-we-lost-noa1-what-should-i-dopls-help/
