Hi everyone!

I've had my green card (received through marriage) for almost four years now. I'm planning on mailing my N-400 application at the end of December. Does anyone know the rules regarding foreign travel while my naturalization application is in process? If I leave the USA can I return using my green card just as I would now or do I need to apply for a special travel document?

Thanks!

Of course you can travel while your N400 is pending. There is no such thing that you can't travel or that you need a special doc. Just be sure to not miss the biometrics appt or the interview lol. You would travel normally as you have always done with your GC and foreign passport. You will be asked about any trips you have taken since submitting the application either at the interview or on the day of the oath ceremony.

This does not constitute legal advice.

Thanks Ian. I couldn't find any information about this but I wanted to be sure. International travel is somewhat restricted during the green card application so I wanted to be sure it wasn't the same while my Naturalization was in progress.

I just wanted to make sure you were talking about Vacation travel and not a 14 month "Grand Tour of Europe" or any other longer term activity that would call you residency into question.

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.
