When I first met Maj and was worried about being with an "Arab," he always quickly corrected me to say he is Berber. He also often says he's African, which brings on a lot of confused looks

Ok. True Story. Mohammed is working as a waiter and on his breaks has been hanging out with "the guys in the kitchen" who are a group of typical Kentucky country bumpkin boys complete with mullets. (Moh said to me 2 days ago "Honey, some of them don't have all their teeth! Why?" No lie.) Anyway, they just think he's totally too cool because he's from Egypt and have been talking pyramids and heiroglyphs with him. They call him Mr. History Man (who knows... just repeating what I've been told). His name tag says "Moh" and that's what he goes by. Yesterday one of the guys asked him what his full name is. Moh told him and they all  . One of the guys then responded with "wowwwwww... that sounds like an Ay-rab name." I asked Mohammed what he said then. He said "I couldn't SAY anything. I just LAUGHED."

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

Horses are Arabian.

Usama wanted to call his first son Adham, which he tells me is the name of a beautiful Arabian horse. I told him that I'll do it as long as he can accept the fact that the kids at school are gonna call him Adam since it's too similar, but he is insistant that they need to call him Adam
