SSN Question

My wife got her I 551 permanent resident card last week, and we are still waiting for her SSN. We applied for the SSN along with her visa on the DS 230 form.

We went to the local SS office yesterday and they were no help at all. I called the SS toll free number and talked to a lady that was even less helpful.

Does anyone know if there is a way to track whether or not her number was issued or even how to check if it was ever applied for?

If it was never applied for we are going to fill out an application.

Also, does anyone know whether or not my wife would have been given form I94 when she entered the country if she came in with a CR1 visa?

You haven't given her date of entry either in your timeline or in your post, but it was likely long enough ago that you should stop waiting and apply for the SS card.

She would not have an I-94 entering on an immigrant visa.

She entered the country Dec 29, 2006.

We plan to reapply tomorrow.
