Has anyone who scheduled their interview online with this new system received an official appointment letter in the mail as yet?

After we scheduled, we received an email that stated this:

You have successfully registered on this website and paid the K Visa application fee. Here are the details of your transaction.

Please attend your Consular interview at the date and time assigned to you in your appointment letter. You must print this instruction page and bring it with you, along with the appointment letter, to the Consular interview.

For additional information on the Immigration Visa process and required documents, please refer to your appointment letter or visit the Consular Section Website at http://kingston.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html.

After that it goes on to list personal info, interview date and time, DHL registration info, and required documents.

When they sent the email telling us to go online and schedule, they also asked that we email a copy of this confirmation/instruction page to them, which we did on Dec 1, 2014. Then today he gets an email saying this:

Good day:

Please contact the call center at 876-632-7400 for assistance in the scheduling of your K1 fiancé visa appointment.

Regards,

Visa Unit

Embassy of the United States of America

Kingston, Jamaica

What? He already did that and they have the confirmation page email. All these emails and going are coming from the same place! Do they not know we are already scheduled as per their instructions?! AGAIN, confused. I'm now worried he will never receive the appointment letter in the mail for his medical and interview. We have sent emails asking for the appt letter multiple times.

Hey I just wanted to let you know that Jermaine has a friend who works at the Embassy and since we were having the exact same issue, he contacted her. Im not sure why they're so vague (holidays and busy or what) but she says he is definitely scheduled for his interview and even if he doesn't receive the official packet 4 he is still supposed to be there. Im under the impression they just did a sloppy job of transitioning to the new scheduling system.

Anyway, he was told to print out all the confirmation pages and emails and take with him just in case.

I truly hope the medical facilities know this. His appointment is Wednesday. Awesome for you to have that reassurance! Thank you very much!

This inefficient, miscommunication, lack of accountability is simply ridiculous.

Did you call the number? They will not let him complete his medical examination without his appointment letter. They can e-mail him his letter. This going back and forth can kick rocks.

No they just sent that email Friday and We didn't get a chance to call. That help number is pretty useless anyway but I'm going to still try to call on Monday. the system is recently changed and even on our confirmation it says and I think maybe they sent it in an email as well that if you don't get your appointment letter to take this confirmation to your medical and your interview. so I'm seriously hoping that the medical facilities are aware of this new system (although I highly doubt it)and will accept that. I think Kim and Jermaine found out that you're supposed to take that confirmation letter and any emails that the embassy sent u.

It's sure to be quite an experience.

Did you have a medical exam yet? Did the medical facility accept that confirmation email? Edited by LionessDeon

Hi All,

I am in the same boat but haven't set the appointment date because we didn't get the letter yet. I have gone and "registered" and paid but didn't input any date because we have no letter with a date and time.... I sent them an email with the payment info and am hoping they tell me to go to step 5 and choose whatever date suits my needs

i have called that number 876 632 7400 and got someone who was rude the first time and someone who seemed very helpful the second time. I am awaiting for the embassy email to tell me to go ahead and choose a date via email because i don't want to delay anything... but my biggest concern is our I129F approval expires on dec 26? i keep asking via email will/can they extend it because they haven't scheduled an appointment yet, but it just says to register on the asis website...

I wish you all luck and ask you to please what occurs on the interview/medical with these emails and instruction page?!?!!?

Hi all I called NVC because I am also in the same boat and was informed that now that our package is at the Embassy they are the only ones that will be able to extend our package. I have also called the number that was provided several times and their only instruction is to send an email. We have been sending emails since October. My biggest concern is that they say that you need to bring the Appointment Letter with you to the Medical Appointment so we have not picked our own Appointment Date because we don't want the delays. Our paperwork is supposed to expire January 15th so we are really concerned right now. My hope is that because things are being delayed because of the changes they're implementing that we will not be penalized and will have no problems with getting dates for our finances to complete this process.

I sent an email to them again last week. I will definitely make sure I share whatever information I get. Sending good vibes out to everyone that things will work out for us all.

Yes everyone its ok to do what is said to do in the email. Schedule your own appointment. The confirmation page is accepted by the medical facility no appointment letter will be issued. Not sure if its the new system or just temporary to cut through paperwork during the holidays.
