I dont understand why our government doesn't simplify this process by having the petitions submitted online and the documents uploaded with it. Not only would it save a lot of paper it would help prevent mistakes by not allowing a petition to be submitted with missing information, they wouldnt lose things, there wouldnt be data entry errors on their side and Im sure it would be 100 times faster. Im sure a lot of people would lose their jobs, but from what I have experienced and the current backlog in TCS they arent very good at their jobs in the first place. But then why would anyone choose a streamlined more cost efficient process over a costly backlogged paper mill anyway.

I posted this in another thread to - but trying my luck everywhere I can.

Okay - Hello Decemberists.

Fellow decemberer here. Just curious to know who is at where in their process?

Ours was received on December 22, 2014 and we have heard nothing since. After the 5 month mark passed, we started calling them and were basically told nothing will be done for us because 8 months is now the standard. HOWEVER, I am now seeing that some of you have been getting your approvals - and I am pleading with you to share your experiences. What are you doing to get your approvals? According to USCIS and visa journey - Texas has just barely started looking at November applications. And yet! Some of you guys have gotten lucky. Please let us what you did - did you approach a lawyer for help? Did you call them every day incessantly? Did you apply to expedite your petitions? (Philippines applicants can disregard this last part).

Please - anyone and everyone! Tell us!

And congratulations of course!

Hey I did nothing I was not expecting to be approved so quickly it came as a shock. I didn't expedite nor contact my senator but thank God that I did and I pray for a quick approval for everyone.

The whole contacting your local representatives thing may be, despite my cynicism, worth a shot. My fiancee got an email back from their congressman's office saying that they called the TSC and found out that our case was passed to an official on the 3rd and that we should get back in touch at the end of the month to get congressional support applied (whatever that means)!

It's so good just hearing that it is being looked at! Hope is the best and worst thing sometimes...

Having now read the email my fiancee received, they said it was passed to a Review officer on the 3rd and that the term used was 'congressional interest' and that it will be applied to our case at the NVC stage if we call them back when we've heard that it's reached the NVC following NOA 2.

No idea if those specifics make any difference or really what 'congressional interest' means or will achieve haha! Still it all sounds good to me.

As someone who was expedited, I can tell you that they do NOT expedite for financial hardship, regardless of what their site says. My US Senator confirmed this. The only way I was able to be expedited was to explain the unique situation of my case to the senator's office and have them work directly with the USCIS.

Waiting still, how could you possibly know if the are "good" at their jobs? You realize the USCIS doesn't revolve about k1 petitions. Much has to do with the immense amount of petitions and the under staffing. If you want to point a finger at someone because it doesn't move to your liking, do it in the voting booth next presidential race.

Stephanie if you check processing times you will see that the k1 is not the only thing they are behind on. This may just be my opinion but I am entitled to that.

Essentially your opinion is suggesting people should lose their jobs because the US government has control over the way the USCIS spends funding regardless of the fact they are funded only by fees. This control trickles down to manpower and lack of training. I just don't see how you can quantify good or bad when it's not abundantly clear what is involved in reviewing a petition.

You took one line from the whole post it was more than just about jobs and the possibility that some may not be good about it...it's about a system that obviously doesn't work. I understand jobs are important and keeping people employed is important but so is an immigration process that actually works.

I tried last month and the request didn't go thru because they said it is still in "normal processing time" because the date on the website said September so they will not consider it being outside or normal time unless the date on the site is after yours ? But you never know, it doesn't hurt to try
