We have seen early approvals for a handful of cases for a while now. Sadly, it is not a predictor of overall waiting time. But, yeah, everyone hopes to be the among the lucky few, I am guilty of that too.

From data tracked outside of VJ, status June 2nd:

Out of 1198 December total tracked petitions, 999 (83%) are still in received state, meaning no one has touched them. Only 58 (5%) have been worked on (approved, sent to NVC, RFEd). The rest have been withdrawn, denied or had other status updates unrelated to approval.

We are quite some weeks away from December being really worked on with any intensity, I would say. Not expecting significant movement before late July, possibly August, based on all the prior months pending petitions (between Aug and Nov, there are still 1100+ petitions that have not been touched yet.

I know ... sigh... I am going to celebrate like no other once we get through this. Planning for the worst - hoping for the best. Thanks for this information though!

Well...one of the case numbers I am stalking in iOS app, just after mine, has also been approved yesterday. Maybe they ARE working on that batch...

I am trying very hard not to get my hopes up.

Hmm...USCIS published their aggregate statistics update as of End of Q2 FY15 a few days ago. For I-129F, I interpret this as the backlog having gotten bigger "pending petitions", whereas the number of approvals "approved petitions" has gone down. Fits well with the continued slowdown we have all be experiencing since the beginning of the year.

Congrats! That is awesome! Can I ask, is your receive date Dec29th - so the date that showed up on your status upon logging in (On xx we received your petition...) or did you use the notice date on the NOA-1 paper copy?

It's the date that I saw on the paper copy, I had sent the forms in November when I was still living in Panama and they took about a month to arrive to the U.S. And actually be received so yea I had to rely on what the paper copy said.
