I am utterly terrified by all this! I mean, seriously, will they eventually look at our files?? Is there a reason for all this? Is it because one person just put our files under a chair and forget that they were there?? If that is the case I hope they move the chairs and miraculously find a stack of applications waiting to be reviewed. I don't even know what to think anymore at this point!

Have you considered setting up an InfoPass appointment? Clearly you are beyond the 45 days and should be able to. I know that availabilities are difficult to find in offices that we want, but perhaps going to a neighboring state may give you better luck. I had set mine up in NY, but since I know I will be in a different state for work next week, checking the availability of appointments in that states office seems like I might be able to snag something earlier. I have read mixed reviews of infoPass appointments, but at this point if I am able to get a response to my query, it may be worth it.

Just booked one this morning...August 6th was the only day available in both NYC and Long Island so i booked on LI as the location is less than 20 mins from me...

Hi :) Have you tried following up with senators? (not that it would work, but you never know) what about inquiries on the USCIS site? I would just walk in an early morning and see if they will talk to you, you never know. I am not familiar with the infopass but I think the opening are rare and not really quick.

We have, they are not being all that responsive - rather, they dont have much to say. We are OCT15 NOA1 and would really like to know where our case is :-) 281 days of nothingness

USCIS obviuously doenst want to answer anything - they keep spouting the "oh, wait another 15 days" line - and while we opened an inquiry that hasnt done much good just yet either...

They actually have openings at the Boston Field Office, just not at Lawrence which is our juristiction - anybody tried to go to one thats outside of the jurisdiction area? Because they make you put in your home zip code - how strict is that?

Also, officially they make you do the inquiry first and only once you havent heard back in 45 days will they let you do infopass?

So you can choose which one you go to even if its not in your state?

I am curious, wouldnt have put it past them to say you have to go to your assigned one...

huh? It is in my state...i live on Long Island...i'm going to the Long Island Center...NYC, had i gone, is also the same state...

You have to put in your zipcode when looking....i guess you could fudge that if you wanted to go elsewhere but i have not attempted that...

Sorry, got my states mixed up :-P

So you had two choices in your jurisdiction, right?

I only have one... And the Boston Office has openings, but is not my jurisdiction *blahhh*. We'll call to find out, but this is just so annoying beyond words...

Good luck! I hope you are able to get some info :-)

actually listed 4...but one is apparently closed until further notice and the one is pretty far away...Long Island & NYC are the best 2 options and had NYC had different, earlier, dates available i may have gone there instead...but honestly i'm glad i'm only going 20 mins away because if they end up giving me no information, again, i would be livid if i had gone all the way into the city for that...

I have a booking also on the 6th in NY, but know next week I'm going to be in Rhode Island, and looking at Providence location, I saw many days having openings as soon as tomorrow. My case inquiry was opened less than 45 days, and my frustration with TSC stems from when I first opened my inquiry (on the 9th), I saw on the USCIS website that it was assigned for a response on the 14th. Checking yesterday, I saw the dates shift to the 20th (again assigned for a response) without any record of the original assignment. Needless to say, I made an appointment with InfoPass to get an update on my case. And am hoping to schedule one in Rhode Island next week. I didn't go thru the whole process of being able to cancel it (because I left my pin at home). When I tried to go ahead and book InfoPass this time in RI without cancelling, it just brought up my original booking. So hopefully, when I get home tonight I will cancel my NY appointment and book one for Monday in Providence.

Will the Info pass provide any answer? What is it for exactly? Is it just to get answers? How were u able to file inquiries, when i called I always get the canned answer "you are within processing times" thing so how do you get passed that to file an inquiry. I am beyond frustrated when i call to talk to any officer, it gets me nowhere

I've heard mixed reviews but the positive feedbacks that I've read sounds really promising. But maybe dependent on the office where you go to. I am thinking of scheduling my appointment at a time when the TSC is often so hopefully the ISO I would be speaking with will have the opportunity to call TSC directly. I've exhausted most of the options to get some attention, so this seems to be the next progressive step. I may have been lucky the day that I was able to open a case, because normally the agent picking up the phone is just a regular agent. I lucked out and a supervisor picked up and was able to open a case.

I just wanted to drop by and give an update. After our immigration lawyer gave us incorrect information regarding the whole process and when I finally lost my patience and started digging (and with advice given on this website/forum here) I realised I had to act quickly seeing as our petition expired on the 22 of July. Our K1 had been approved back in April, but our lawyer kept insisting we had to wait to be assigned an interview date. Wrong. We had to schedule the medical appointment and fill out the d-160 first!!! So long and very tense story short, I finally have an interview date at the embassy on the 11th of August!! Woohoo!
