How many time can this process take .???

I think about 2-4 weeks after NOA2...every consulate is different though, ours took a little over 2 weeks to get sent to NVC.

I just called NVC to see if I can get my case number....they are offline until Monday due to "technical difficulties" and will not have access to any cases until then. :(

You will get a text and email saying that your case was sent to the Department of State.

From there, you have to wait until the US embassy/consulate of the beneficiary's country receives the case, then you will be given a case number that you will need to fill out the DS-160 visa form.

A new case number is given by the NVC and you can get it by calling them like we did. It is needed for medical. Maybe it depends on the country but for DS-160 the petition number is needed but not a case number.

Thanks...I just realized that last night lol I was able start the DS-160 for my fiance. I tried to call NVC but they're having issues again and are offline until Monday. I'm assuming case number is also needed to schedule interview??

This whole thing is becoming such a joke...filed an inquiry online on June 11th...was told i would hear something by today...called yesterday (today's a holiday) and since the first person could do nothing asked for a tier 2...all the tier 2 person could do was go "oh its past 6 months...let me send them a message to see why this is taking so long...you should hear something with in 2 weeks"...i tried explaining i already had an inquiry but that didn't seem to phase this person...

i look at the USCIS website...and there it is...another inquiry....i'm supposed to believe this one will be something different? after i literally just heard nothing from the first (it was never even assigned to anyone according to the website)

No. It will be needed to track your case and know the status of your visa on ceac site after the interview:

https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

You will need the number of visa payment receipt to schedule the interview. At least it is like that for our country.

I totally understand your frustration, I am passed 7 months as well and honestly I don't know what else to say about this process other than just "Painful" I suppose we have to hang in there. -_-

You're not alone. Nov 18th here and two more weeks till my 8 months at TSC. Put in inquiry doesn't help much either. I called them couple days ago and the tier 2 was helpful. Been told that my case now just wait to assign back to an officer again for finalize and decision( was looked at by an officer on June 30th). I will call them again Monday and see if I can put in another inquiry. This whole TSC thing is just a joke.

When you call, how do you get them to say what is happening with your case? every time I call I get the whole " You have to continue to wait" answer or just "we have a lot of applications". I could not get anyone to tell me anything. What do you ask ?

It's just my luck I think. It depends if you get a helpful tier 2. Some are rude ( I met some) and some are nice. I just told them the case took longer than normal. The last time the tier 2 put me on hold for almost 5 minutes. Came back telling me good news since an officer had looked at my case on June 30th and so on. I called around 3:30- 4 central time. Got transferred directly to a tier 2 without having them to call me back.

I will try untill I get someone nice enough to answer. Seems like it should be any day for ur approval then, which is good news! Wishing you good luck n hope you hear something at least next week?

We got approved on June 26, 2015. Took 226 days or 7 months and 14 days. It has been a long process. Good luck to the rest of you and don't loose faith!

Congrats!
