Hello Everyone,

Recently the status of my application online was updated with case approved for I-130. Does that mean my application has been approved and a green card will be issued to my Husband or there is further more to the story ?

Was wondering if anyone else has been through this scenario.

19-08-2014 NOA 1
19-11-2014 I-130 Approved
26-01-2015 Received DS-261/AOS Bill
02-02-2015 Paid AOS fee
15-03-2015 Paid IV fee
17-03-2015 Package sent to NVC
23-03-2015 Package received at NVC
24-03-2015 DS 260 submitted online
25-03-2015 Confirmation email received from NVC
21-04-2015 Received Checklist
27-04-2015 Checklist documents sent to NVC
06-06-2015 Received email for case approval

26-08-2015 Interview scheduled for 22nd Sep 2015

22-09-2015 Visa Approved

Hi,

Congrats dear as you got approved your I 130 :)

I am not good enough to advising ppl here but as I understood, you have achieved one big step in the process. But you still need to go a long way. As I read, USCIS forward your case to NVC and NVC provide a case number to your petition. Normally it takes up to 30 or more days for this process. Once you get the NVC case number you will have to fill several application forms(online) and pay the amount. NVC takes up to 60 days or more to forward your case to the country where you are residing. And then you will get your interview date and medicals, this may again take more than 2 or 3 weeks..

I am also waiting for my I 130 get approved. What is your PD?

Oh ok. I applied in January this year. My wife was LPR at that time and 2 months back she became USC. We upgraded the petition in october and its more than a month, my I 130 is still not approved :( waiting ...

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi apvin im on the same issue only the difference is my case was approved on February 2014 and sent to nvc and i was a LPR that tym and on November I became a USC and on November 5 i sent them request to upgrade my case to ir1 but still i haven't heard anything from nvc. Frustrating

As I read NVC take more than 30 days to upgrade your petition. Hope it will get approved soon. Lets pray. In my case we sent an inquiry and we got this

We have updated your relative petition to reflect that you are now a U.S. citizen. As a result, your petition has moved to a new visa category. However, immigrant visas in the new visa category are not immediately available from the U.S. Department of State (DOS).
