Hi I made an appointment with the Aus consulate in San Fran in 2 weeks time to renew my Australian passport, also change it to my married name

I got the other documents, but I'm having trouble with finding a guarantor.

I have some husband's friends who kinda know me, that are one of those professions. But they are unsure what the consulate will ask them, the title 'guarantor' sounds too scary/serious.

Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask? I assume it's just whether they know i'm who I claim I am, now living in US legally, in a proper marriage, law abiding, etc.

Thank you!

i had my passport re issued after my marriage to change to my married name. they just want to know you are who you are and you are the actual person who you claim to be, they will call the guarantor and ask whether he/she actually knows you and for how long since he/she has to know you for a certain period of time (i forgot for how long) and what is the guarantor's profession as the guarantor needs to be in a certain profession, if not cannot qualify to be your guarantor, all this is exactly the same process if you apply for your passport back in australia.
