Need a little help regarding how to calculate household size. if a sponsor filed for immigrants that are now permanent residents 7- 10 years ago,and now is sponsoring a new immigrant. does the sponsor still need to calculate the previous immigrants when determining the household size? if so if one of the previous immigants is over 21 are they still supposed to be calculated in the household size? I know this is a lengthy post but any information will be appreciated

hi

yes, they should read the instructions, until the lpr become USC, work 40 quarters, abandon GC or die

if they were petitioned 10 years ago, why haven't they applied for citizenship?

was the petitioner a USC and applied for child under 18? if so, then the child automatically became a USC upon entry

thank you for your response. no the petitioner was a permanent resident. im still a little confused how I wouls calculate the household size. for example if the sponsor makes 20,000 a yr an the household is 4 would she multiply da annual income with the household size? or the federal income requirement multiplied by the number of people In the household?

Yes the sponsor needs to count the immigrants he sponsored 7-10 years ago, UNLESS they are now US citizens.

A income of $20'000 is barely enough for a household of 2, let alone 4 people, you will need to find a different sponsor. This explains it: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

when calculating the household size the sponsor has to include themselves and the intending immigrant?, also if the sponsor is making over 40,000 with a household of 6 already? an the intending immigrant makes 7 im guessing the income may not cover? if so im guessing you have to get another sponsor?

The sponsor would need to make $45,037 for a household of 7 (including the immigrant), so yes you would need a new sponsor in this case.

~~moved to NVC as OP is doing the IR1/CR1 process and the I-864 is needed for the NVC stage~~
