Right, but what should they do if it was asthma? I'm not a doctor nor do I have asthma. There were several minutes of doing nothing before the ambulance arrived. What should the procedure be in this example? I'm asking because I don't know.

CPR since the guy was not responding and get the cuffs off.

It must be tough walking around with that chip on your shoulder.

If it is sour and cream, not at all. They are my favorite chips.

When you see someone is not breathing or have an emergency, you help. A paper bag, coach them to take deep breathes, you dont ignore them because you feel like they should die, especially if you wear a badge and you are sworn to protect and uphold the law.

Now there you go. I think you're getting the hang of it.

What? Am I speaking your language? I think you like dirty talk. Where do you go after you are finished with VJ for the night?

Those were the two things I thought while watching the long video, although I admit I don't know when CPR should be used. The cops seemed to act like he was taking a nap. I expected more active revival attempts until the EMT's arrived.

So you'd coach an unconscious person who wasn't breathing to take deep breaths and breath into a paper bag?

He was unresponsive. The cop said he was breathing. Was he struggling to breathe and the cops ignored it? I saw a cop check his pulse and it looked like to check if he was breathing before the ambulance arrived. There didn't seem to be a sense of urgency while they waited.

I would not like to believe that the academy doesn't teach about dealing with medical or potential medical crises such as this. Garner could have been gasping and the police couldn't identify a problem. That doesn't make the force look good with training it's men and women.

I thought all cops had to have some basic medical/emergency training. If he was gasping, they should have noticed it. If he he passed out and was breathing normally, it seems that something else needed to be done. The cops carry some emergency gear in their cruisers. Those couldn't have all been beat cops.

You are kidding right?

CPR if not breathing, if difficult breathing try something not stand there, laugh while someone is dying from the harm you caused. Plan and simple. I would be okay if they had tried something instead of nothing at all. This shows how they felt this man's life was worthless.

Kidding about what? I expected more medical attention before the ambulance got their. They checked his pulse and his breathing. I thought more should have been done. But as I said, I don't know what is appropriate treatment.

Tons of black men ? that would be at least 22, if tons is at least 4000 lbs and the AVG black dude weights 185.

Yet the number one cause of death for black men age 15-34 is homicide.

Guess who is killing well over 90% of them

Hint--It ain't white cops

Question. Are those men indicted? Do they get to say, I was in fear of my life and walk?

Their deaths are no less important. What's funny about this is you're using this logic now. When we talk about Islam, you seem to reverse it.

"Oppressive language does more than represent violence; it is violence; does more than represent the limits of knowledge; it limits knowledge." -Toni Morrison

Would you have put your lips on this big, black dude?

I recall when this incident had just taken place someone said it is the aim (not reality) of the police to have an experienced officer or detective present with such arrest to ensure that the correct procedures are followed. Even without this experienced cop, the police involved with Eric's death seemed dumbfounded as if they didn't have a clue what to do.

But was he breathing or grasping? There's a difference and the latter means your body is not getting enough oxygen and not enough oxygen leads to unconsciousness.

He has to be trolling at this point. I can't believe he is asking these questions otherwise.

They did appear clueless when Eric blacked out. There were a bunch of cops there before the ambulance arrived. I have to believe that some of them had training. Why wasn't anything done or was it normal to wait for trained help in an example like this? I haven't folllowed this case, was anything written about the procedure the police used while waiting for medical help?
