first there's nothing to pick up on except that my opinions on certain matters aren't the same as yours. you brought race into it. i didn't. but i know yours is a common behavior from white guys. most of you don't even realize you do it. but you do just the same.

So you want to point to some stuff Al and Jesse did back in the 70s when Barkley was a little kid? Since then, they've both been little more than agitators, extortionists, and criminals. That pretty much cancels out anything they did back then IMO. If anything it makes it worse. They took that credibility and trust and used it for their own personal gain. That's pretty disgusting if you ask me.

Barkley is just giving an opinion. Just like you or me. I happen to agree with is opinion. I guess if you disagree with his opinion, it's ok to just call him a Basketball player who's opinions shouldn't count. I know you're talking to Val, but I know where she's coming from. It's the same thing when folks find out I listen to the Police or Men at Work. Or that I played D&D religiously when I had the time. Or that time when I met my guild from WOW in Seattle and it was, you're black? Most folks think I'm white when I speak over the phone or even when they meet me, it's been said more than once I'm an Oreo.

Val is experienced with other makeups of people. A large chunk of the population likes to stay in their lane, so to speak. I don't think Val is acting like a black girl from the hood. She likes rap music and has dated outside her race(something a lot of people do, as evident here). Her experiences have shaped her view in a different way. If you grow up around black people and actually insert yourself into their lives, you tend to see what their struggles are.

My question was what did Barkley do? He wants to speak on behalf of all black people. Take a look at his comments. We deserve to get profiled. When was the last time he was? Black folks do dumb stuff and are criminals. Is he talking about me or himself, because I don't have a criminal record.

He has an opinion and he stated it. I don't think he has stated that he is or wants to be the spokesperson for all black people. Just because you disagree with his opinion, you're now attacking him personally, rather than his opinion. So people that have a criminal record are not allowed to talk about other people with a criminal record? If that's the case Al and Jesse should be prohibited from sharing their opinions on TV.

Who are the right people to talk about race? The people you agree with?
