Hi,

Whats the best way to bring photos to the interview? 4x6 printed by photo lab or photos printed out on letter size paper using computer printer, several per page? Does it matter or is one way better gthan the other. Have plenty of both. FYI, interview is at Bangkok. How have you done it?

Thanks.

If this doesn't get moved there automatically, try asking in the regional forum for a more embassy specific answer. Good luck! :)

Topic is of more than regional interest; thread is moved from K-1 Process forum to the Embassy/Consulate forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

There are so many options, but as for me, I made a booklet type file, with documents in document protectors. I left the photos in the original envelope that was given to me when they were developed at Walgreens, and placed them in separate document protectors. We had two envelopes with original pictures, about 20 photos in total, 10 photos for each trip. I visited him twice. Envelopes were labeled Trip 1 and Trip 2.

When the CO asked to see photos, my fiancee pulled out the envelopes and handed them to her. As She looked through each batch, she would periodically stop and ask him a question or two relating to that particular photo such as, where and when it was taken, what we were doing there, etc. He just explained the circumstances surrounding each photo that she asked about. I did not write anything on the back of any of the photos.

Some people have suggested doing collages and things like that, and writing the dates and places on the photos. We didn't do any of that. I guess it just depends on how you want to personally present them.

If you don't want to do a lot of talking explaining information about any of the photos, just tape like 4 on each page of plain white bond paper, write the circumstances surrounding each one under each photo, and place them in a document protector.

Our interview was in the DR. There may be different requirements for your consulate. I'm sure someone that has interviewed in your consulate will chime in with other ideas. Best wishes for you.

Thanks for the info, just asked to see if they were picky about it or not.

We front loaded our application with color photocopies of several photos. The CO asked my wife about them, who is this, when was it taken, etc. Additionally, we put together a small 4X6 photo album for the interview. The CO just leafed through it very quickly. At our AOS interview the IO had the same copies from the K-1 and made some comments about what a happy couple we were.

Our interview was in Bangkok back in January. We just put pictures in a photo album. The interviewer did look at the pictures in it. I had made 2 trips and had spent about 7 weeks with my fiancee by the time the interview took place. I had also sent about 8 pictures with the I-129f application package. My wife was approved with no issues.

Good luck!

I used a color photo quality printer, printed two per page, and typed the date and location underneath each.

At the interview, my wife integrated the photos into her story. For example when she talked about the engagement party her family threw for us, she said "and here are the photos from that party".

DId it work? Well, she is here, so I guess it idid.

We used regular 4x6 photos / photo album for both the K-1 and AoS interview. In both cases the interviewer looked through both without any hesitation.

The AoS was interesting because the interviewer had read through the 'how we met' story included and knew almost every detail and was able to point out where exactly the pictures we included from Thailand were included as these were included in the story.
