I attended my interview last Tuesday (Nov 25th) and was told that my visa was approved.

I have been checking the CEAC website since then but it is still on "Ready"... Is there anything else i should have done after the interview? I was told that the visa status normally changes in a couple of days but mine still hasnt and its been a week. Is there any way of calling someone to check what the status is?

We are planning on getting married on December 13th so we need to get the visa in hand ASAP.

It can take 10-14 days after interview to receive passport.

Since Nov 27th was a holiday, they may be experiencing a slight delay. But I wouldn't worry, you should have your passport back some time this week or beginning of next.

Given there was a holiday, that is probably a factor. I was exactly in your situation, down to the wire waiting for the visa. Fiance ended up entering the US 2 days before the wedding. London embassy moves relatively quick, so my guess is you'll have it issued by the end of the week. Is your 'ready' status pre or post interview instructions? If it is still in immigrant status you have to wait for it to change to non-immigrant. If it's in non-immigrant status it should be issued within a day or two. :)

It does say Non-Immigrant at the top but its said the same thing since Thursday. I guess with the holiday, i can understand the slight delay.

This is what it says:

Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application.

Hopefully ill hear something in the next couple of days then. I wanted to leave this weekend, but i guess thats not going to happen now :(

Should my status have no been updated by now? It still says "Ready" and the case has not been updated since 28th of November. Is there no phone number for the embassy that I can call to check what the problem is?

You should hear something by the end of the week or beginning of next.

The embassy does not have a phone number to call.

If you don't hear anything with 14 days of your itnerview you can contact the embassy online here.

I am so glad you posted this. We are experiencing the same thing. My fiancé had his interview for our K1 visa on November 19. At the end, the interviewer said they were going to recommend our visa for approval. We log in everyday and almost every day they have been in our case. At the first it was every other day, but now since December has started, it has been every day. But our status still just says "Ready". Nothing has changed on there since before his interview. Here is what the whole thing says:

Case Creation Date: 02-Oct-2014 Status Updated Date: 04-Dec-2014
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html
If anyone has any advice... or could just tell me that this is normal and ok that would be much appreciated so that I can stop worrying. I am just also seeing people with interview dates after ours who already have their visas in hand. It just worries me.

I totally understand how you feel, its so hard to plan for anything when you dont know when the visa will arrive.

Most people seem to have the visa in hand a few days after the interview, ours still hasnt arrived. I was planning on leaving today so i have a week before the wedding, but obviously i cant do that.

I did get an update saying the visa has been issued, but nothing to say its on the way yet.

Just stay patient, as hard as that is. If its been 14 days since the interview, then use the contact form someone posted to me earlier in the topic.

Good Luck and i hope you hear something soon :)

May i ask what questions were asked at the interview?

Just basic stuff.... How did we meet? How long we been together? When did i first visit her? Have i met her family. I think they ask the same kind of thing every time.

Good Luck if you have your interview soon :)

I am assuming you have received your passport back by now.

From the date it changed to NonImmigrant, how long did it take to go to issued and when did you finally receive your passport?

Thank you!
