December 2014 - NVC Status

They didn't give me the invoice, just the number. I have to wait for this mysterious "packet 3" to receive that. I plan on calling next Monday morning to get an update on the progress.

I got my invoice number when I got the case number today. I had to ask for it. Also get the Beneficiary ID number. I tried to log in to see if I could pay the invoice but it was not ready yet.

How will you know case was sent to NVC? I tried calling last week to ask for our case number yet it hasn't come there. Noa2 was approved NOVEMBER 7th... We are confused now...

I checked online at CEAC and this is what it says:

"Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." (Um, it was? No....)

Then I checked the Fee payment page, which I had previously been able to pull up, although it had previously showed $0 due and "not invoiced," even though NVC had given me the invoice ID #. Now the Fee Payment Page says this:

Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center

The National Visa Center has forwarded your file to the US Embassy/Consulate where you are applying for an immigrant visa. Any other required fees must now be paid directly at the Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.

Yes, you have to keep calling to check to find out when it is received. Mine was 2 weeks, from CSC. My case was also expedited at USCIS though, I do not know if it has anything to do with how fast it is going or not. The first time I called they told me it could take up to 35 days.

Any updates? I am still waiting for the embassy to receive my case, they said it was sent on Dec. 3. Ok so it has been 6 days, and two of them were weekend days, and it is across the world...I am so impatient now we are getting so close!!!

I called and found out my case number, but that it was still being updated/ reviewed on Monday night. Now I'm super anxious about it going to the embassy. Want it to get there before the holidays!

Our case were both forwarded on the same day .. Still waiting any response from the embassy here.. I have no idea how long will it takes... Keep in touch
